The English update primarily features a new title logo which is more in keeping with the original Magical Quest series logo. It also has various improvements throughout.

The Spanish version has been updated with a new title logo and some other bug fixes and improvements including some newly translated graphics. Thanks to blade133bo for his work on the Spanish Magical Quest 1 logo, which was partly used in the new Magical Quest 3 Spanish and Portuguese title logos.

The Portuguese Translation has now been completed by Goro's Lair. It features accents for all the text which has been fully translated to Portuguese. Many thanks to Goro's Lair for his assistance with testing.

A No Letterbox Hack has also been released. This hack removes the letterbox / black border that is drawn at the top and bottom of the screen during gameplay, which is common in many Capcom games. This patch works with the English translation, with any other translated version, e.g. Spanish or Portuguese translation and with the original Japanese ROM.

Huh, interesting. It was funny I was talking about changing the title for the second game back to Magical Quest 2 for consistency and/or 3rd game title change like how they named the second game Great Circus Mystery instead of keeping the Magical Quest title earlier and this pops up. I'd might give this a go.

I agree with you. I always thought the Great Circus Mystery logo looked a bit out of keeping with the Magical Quest series logo, and would look much better following as Magical Quest 2.

I’m a big fan of this game and I love how it’s still getting updates after all these years. The letterbox hack is fantastic but I’m torn on the new title screen update. It looks fantastic and is likely how the game would have been localized officially all those years ago when it was released. But a part of me prefers matching the style of the original Japanese title screen (as previous versions did) since it’s more authentic to the only official version of the game that exists. It would be cool to have the option between the two.

Also, I’d love to see the hacking credits moved to text at the bottom of the title screen rather than its own screen when it starts up since that just makes it longer to get the game started. I don’t see many translations doing that anymore.

Overall, amazing job, and I appreciate all the work that has gone into bringing it to where it is today.

Jonny-san and the three others involved in this, thank you so very much for doing what Capcom unfortunately did not! Is is a great translation of a wonderful game! However, I agree with Neon Streetlight-san regarding the title screen because I think it looked better in version 1.4 of the patch. It would be terrific if you could please create an alternate patch. I also agree with NS regarding moving the hacking credits.

I think the No Letterbox Hack makes a big difference specifically when it's played on emulators, so it's great to hear other people like this hack too.

It's interesting to hear that you and Mattiac both prefer the old title logo, I'll definitely remember that if there is another release of this translation. All the previous feedback I have got to date was that the new v1.5 title logo is much better, so I am really grateful for your feedback, thanks
