Well, it took a couple days longer than I wanted to... but the Mega Man X3 Relocalization Addendum is ready for release.  Along with that a patcher for the Mega Man X Legacy Collection has been made, allowing these hacks to be compatible with said collection. First post has been updated to note all the features currently finished for this project and what there's left to do...

UPDATE: Patches have been updated further to include the Japanese boss names for the "Irregular" version.  Additional typoes here and there have been fixed and there is also now a separate "Rockman" version that implements the Rockman branding.  The boss names and Rockman X logos were implemented thanks to the help of DarkSamus993, and without further ado...

Mega Man X Relocalization (v2.0): https://drive.google.com/open?id=1MkILQqsy7v-SgpxQY1nHT_YOsVyQPfOu
Mega Man X2 Relocalization Addendum (v2.0): https://drive.google.com/open?id=1luYSRovsdMGHikhVFjoZtTCyprDA48tQ
Mega Man X3 Relocalization Addendum (v2.1): https://drive.google.com/open?id=1Yck-8e0eDEjXl5BIxpnWweUPb5TbPYfJ
Mega Man X Legacy Collection Relocalization Patcher (v1.6): https://drive.google.com/open?id=1ekMGcOFJKkaOqJUybMWIQOjrvlLe619q

...and with that done now I can get back to working on something else for the Mega Man X Legacy Collection...

is there a way for you to fix the too many sprites on screen slowdown?

That's not really in my area of expertise, these hacks were just practice for me to get better at changing text / potential translations... even then I'm not sure you can fix that since that's a limitation of the Super Nintendo, I'm sure you can maybe find an emulator or something that allows you to play without the slowdown, or something?

Yeah, SNES9x allows you to remove slow-down now, and it usually works very well.

so you can't remove it on steam?

No.  I really only made the Steam version viable for those who are really sticklers about the legitimacy of emulation.  Among it being faithful with the SNES slowdown, Mega Man X1-3 suffers from input latency... while it's not as bad as the console versions I don't think it's still noticible.  For an ideal experience your best bet is probably playing it in SNES9X or bsnes/higan.  The PC versions of X1-3 on the collection are very much still emulated, rather than being properly ported over like X4-8.

I mean the slowdown is the same as if you were playing it on actual SNES hardware... so I'm not really sure what the big deal is.

Yeah there's no way to drop the lag entirely on the original versions of the game unless emulators have overclocking in it. MMX1 is already set to FastROM and even THAT doesn't save it from lag. There's no real easy way to reduce it so I wouldn't expect to ever see it on the Steam version either.

Just have to deal with it. There's not an easy way to handle it.

I tested it here, first I applied the relocalization patch, then Zero Project patch and finally the MSU-1 and apparently it is working well, I have to play until the end to see the result.
Interesting. I will try it.

Patches have been updated again, with a few more script changes now... most notably in Mega Man X2 which uses more of NectarHime's retranslation script now.  Also, I just noticed the "Rockman" patch for X1 is considerably bigger than the rest of the patches for X1, so I'm not sure what's with that, but I'm going to look into it later and if there's some weird issue there, X1 will probably get a slight update to reflect that.  For the most part though, I'm feeling fairly satisfied with how these turned out so "ideally" these will be the final versions of the patches for now.  If there are any typoes or weird bugs for whatever reason make sure to leave a comment here and I'll make sure to fix it.  Aside from that, I'll be trying to crank out a more appealing version of the patcher for the MMX Legacy Collection sometime in the near future.

Mega Man X3 Relocalization Addendum (v2.2): https://drive.google.com/open?id=1LO4TvU1kVjtRdH3J-as37ZvleEp_9bsJ
Mega Man X Legacy Collection Relocalization Patcher (v1.7): https://drive.google.com/open?id=1L09941zEgwukhv1vu4Y28vNlLnw5DXJA

Update: There was in fact something off with the "Rockman" patch for Mega Man X, so I updated it to address the issue, the patch is now considerably smaller as a result.  This update has also been reflected in the Mega Man X Legacy Collection Relocalization Patcher.

I haven't gotten a chance to read the whole thread yet, but this is awesome. I appreciate you using my translations, because my endgoal was always to get them into the games proper - I just didn't really have the technical knowhow to do so, for the most part. I was able to get Final Weapon (my X4 pack) done with the help of Ace and DarkSamus, but I always saw the SFC games as being out of reach.

Oh yea, I thought they were pretty good scripts that should be used to some capacity.  There were some alterations I had to do with some of them due to the string limitations.  For the X1 Retranslation and X2-3 Addendums, anything I could try to fit or rework to a satisfying degree I went with, but yea they're overall pretty good scripts and I think bring out the narrative a lot better than Capcom's official localizations.  I appreciate the work you put into them trying to make them flow better as an English localization.

Hey Naldrag, will there be compatibility in the future for the non-Rev 1 MMX rom version? (it does work, but with show-stopping glitches). I ask this because the new SA1 patch is sadly not compatible with the Rev 1 version (don't know for sure why they didn't use Rev 1). If it won't happen, it's fine.

Actually funny enough, I had to make a separate build compatible with 1.0, since that's apparently what the Mega Man X Legacy Collection version of the ROM runs, so I guess I could just release an update with 1.0 compatible patches available.  I wasn't actually entirely sure that was the case until I decided to check where the string data and everything was and aside from the tweaks made to remove mention of Nintendo, it seems identical.  Anyway here's the update patches:

No problem!  If there's any weird issues with those patches just lemme know and I'll look into them but... I did a quick test and everything should be fine since the only weird issue would involve most likely be string order, and that would be fairly noticeable from the get go.

Wow! Thanks for the 1.0 compatible version Naldrag!

Somebody knows about the possibility the SA1 patch sram feature could enable the anti-piracy protection of the game? I haven't had time to test it properly, and I think it important to consider both patch combined the definitive version of MMX. Thanks in advance!!
