I played through it all on the original SNES version. There were definitely some moments where (even after re-re-reading the dialog) you'd induce a brain hemorrhage trying to actually understand what in the hell was just said.
I'm looking forward to seeing how this turns out.
..just thought of a separate issue with the game I always had, that was mainly due to how they marketed it. They claimed something like 255 character combinations with the spirits. While, technically, this is true in that there's the potential for that many, only like 20 or less (don't recall exactly) of those spirit combinations actually work.
Well, there were 9 characters. However, 2 of them couldn't fuse (Ryu plus the not-really-secret-anymore character).
So, now we're down to 7 characters. There's 6 shamans. You can fuse one or two (though I know fire and water can't combine) shamans. 6*5 combinations (=30) - fire/water amd water/fire = 28 + only shaman = 29 combinations. 29 * 7 characters = 203? I thought it was only like 160? Any other combinations that will never work?
And as for bad marketing choices. Taito clamied "your actions determine the outcome of the opening story (of Lufia 1)". But, sadly the only outcome you'll determine is if you have to repeat the opening level again (though I seriously doubt you'd lose unless you're trying to).
Would've been cool if there was an alternate storyline, but I suppose that'd be a lot of work for the original writers and the translators.
