Due to the recent exposure from the
Polygon article, v2.02 will be launching sooner than anticipated: tonight!
http://www.romhacking.net/translations/4654/Changelog:
- Typo fixes reported by Ami Sapphire, Sissy Blade, and Awakened.
Edit 1 - Now live on RHDN
Edit 2 - OK, I didn't want to have to address it like this, but I guess I feel like I have to.
So, after Siliconera, Sailor Moon News covered us with an original article, prompting Polygon and later Paste Magazine to create their own. The problem is Sailor Moon News only played the first few minutes of the game, and Polygon reused their comparison shots, namely a set of Shingo saying "Get out of my room" in BST's project, versus "Get outta my room" in ours. This has led people to believe we only changed some grammatical tenses. That's simply not the case.
We've fixed dialogue written whole-cloth by BST, mistranslations of many kinds (Reversed meaning, confusing the subject and object, reading a word wrong), as well as translating Japanese text that was left romanized and removing honorifics.
BST did a great job with the tools they had, but I feel like we're being undersold due to coming second. Therefore, I've made what I call a "comparison album" of screenshots between the two versions.
https://imgur.com/a/XPdhk8WThe "400+ mistranslations" estimate is low-balling, if you want me to be honest. mziab and our auxiliary translators have likely retranslated about 30% of the game text.
