What's wrong with pure C? No other language could replace it. You would have to outpace a planet full of engineers all churning out C. Think you can do better? Head on over to osdev and give it a shot. I did

I just updated to a new flavor of Ubuntu. It finally works properly. Feels like Windows 10. I guess if it ain't broke don't fix it, right?

Make Linux great again? Just remove 99% of those brillant ideas getting pumped down the kernel tree, it seems to be coorporate agenda day after day instead of user support...

Now, if you really want to program something usable in Linux, I suggest that you do what most serious developers did over the decades: choose a "longterm" tree and keep learning it.

Which programming language do you think Linux should be programmed in?

I think he thinks that if the kernel were programed in a more "recent" language, like go, python, rust, etc, it would be more powerfull.

Actually, I was just chewing on a popcorn kernel, which gave me the idea to post about this thread. I've only made minor changes to some files in Linux. Like I added a couple lines once to a driver to get it to operate properly. I doubt I can make any significant changes to the kernel lol
