I'm also having a problem with the room Octomamm is in. I made absolute sure I was patching the right ROM version with the right filesize (FF2 1.1 (U) unheadered), and the game runs fine until that point, but as soon as I go into the door to that room I seem to get teleported into a wall, as I can't see my character and all I can do is enter the menu.

I've tried flipping around the party order, loading an older save, doing some random stuff to advance the rng seed, but the door just continues to lead to a softlock.
Hi CCM!

That's very strange that both of you are experiencing the same issue! Thanks for bringing it up! I'm going to definitely take a look at this right now.

In the meantime, please check your PM as I'll send you a working version shortly.

Cheers!

EDIT:
I just checked the patches on RHDN and they seem to be working correctly.
I checked the entire cave where Octomamm is and I cannot replicate the issue at all.

If anyone is still having trouble with patching, don't hesitate to reach out!

Cheers!!

This hack looks super exciting, I want to play it very badly, however I've been having an impossible time finding the correct rom to play this hack on.
I've found several roms that have the correct crc32 but are the wrong file size, md5 and sha.
Many times one of the the patches works but it always ends up with a bad checksum of course.

Can I be sent a working version as well please?
Apparently the "correct" rom is now extremely rare in the wild, as I've searched for several hours for the rom in question.

Hi everyone! :)

Version 4.10f is out and this should be the FINAL version of this project barring any critical issues or bug fixes for the hack.

I'd like to thanks everyone that's contributed and helped out with the project, and would also like to thank everyone that's supported this project. Much much appreciated and I can't show my gratitude enough. But for now, as with all fun things, I will be moving on to other projects.

Hi maximo806!
Oh that sounds like an issue with the patching mixing up a non-header/headered patch with the incorrect rom. Make sure you use a non-headered rom with the non-headered ips patch, headered to headered.

If you'd like, I can send you the correct file over PM.

Hope you enjoy the rest of the hack! :D

Cheers!! :)

I checked it and you were right it was an issue with the patch mixing up a non-header/headered patch with the incorrect rom, I fixed it and thank you so much it works.

Why not use the .bps format since a lot of people here seem to have problems with the header vs no-header, this way you cannot mess up the patching.

Also are you ever going to update the documents for this hack? They're full of ?????'s and your Boss FAQ on your site has messed up pictures with a ton of ???? blanks as well.

Hi Special! :)
Thanks for the comments and suggestions!
I will definitely take these into account and perhaps put out some different formats to the suggested files in the future!

Hope you're enjoying the hack! :)

Version 5.0f is out!! :)
Yes, I know it was supposed to be done, but there were several items I wanted to polish for the hack ... and as I was updating it, one thing led to another, and I ended up adding even MORE stuff to it! ;)

Here's a general list of the changes for v5.0f:
3 Brand New Areas!
3 New Items! Including the legendary Megalixir!
2 New Spells!
Lots of new updates to the World Maps.
Various edits to treasure chests and item drops.
New and improved Boss Battles especially the ones at Endgame!
New sprites and palettes for various weapons and enemies.
Reverted name of 'Esperland' back to 'Feymarch'!
Updated various dialogs.
Many edits to existing gears.
New Endgame Super Shop!!
General polish.

Give it a download and check it out!  :)
Hope you all enjoy all the new content!!

Cheers!!

Just started playing this in the past week, and completed Mt Hobs... Trying to grind for silver apples but havent seen any drops yet. I was wondering if you could let me know which enemies drop silver/gold apples and soma drops. That way I can spend time trying to farm for them in each area.

Thoughts so far... It was nice to discover the new areas by exploring thoroughly with the hovercraft. Really cool additions to the game so far... Attack power is a little high for this early, after finding access to some powerful equipment, but the options are definitely cool to see... I also like the new and updated status screen, which will really help later in the game when enemies get tough... Dialogue is very well done, and it will be fun to compare to the original as I progress... Very excellent mod so far, and I imagine it will keep getting better

Last thing... Concerning enemy drops. I dont know if you have a full list, but its just the stat increasing items I am mostly interested in.

I'm also interested in a list containing everything, drops included, that would be found in the game. Plus, a walkthrough would be nice.  ;)

This project seriously lacks any documentation so I wouldn't count on anything like a drop table, or similar.

What's the point of the spell and weapon list included 8.bit? They tell the player literally nothing of value and are full of ???'s. Are you working for PlayOnline?

Take some inspiration Weapons / Spells.
