Any way to move a translation to a hack entry
« on: April 23, 2018, 09:30:25 am »
I think i screwed up when i called this a 'translation' because it actually translates a hack ( Asuka 120% Limit Over ) so it should be on the hack section.

Hacks of Translations should be submitted under Translations section and categorized as an Addendum.

BTW, I need to call you out on always submitting bogus Reviews. FYI the review section is for reviewing the quality of the hacks. You are not even reviewing the hacks, just listing correct dump this and that. Apparently you are not checking your emails or DMs >:(

That's not quite what it is, it's a translation of a hack, not a hack of a translation.

Does it make sense to put it in translations? Because it's there as a 'translation' of 'Asuka 120% Limited: Burning Fest.' because that's the original game and since hacks are not 'games' and the translation section only accepts 'real games' as part of the main title, when if it was in the hacks section it could be marked as addendum of Mrs Tea patch and named 'Asuka 120% Limit Over' which is a hack of 'Asuka 120% Limited: Burning Fest.' which is more correct and less misleading.

The one hack i recently left a 'negative non-review' was something not related to checksums, just a warning that the hack won't ever work on linux on its current form because the patcher was python 3 badly done and that doesn't work on wine currently (it was Last Ranker iirc). I still managed to make it work by editing the code (it was just \\ replaced by / and call wine on a subprocess, but that was later. I couldn't submit a change because there was nothing to change on the form.

Well, there was also a header requirement change for something in pc-engine but that was a edit proposal.

Then Ms. Tea's translation should be resubmitted under Hacks since its a "hack of a hack". Her readme says that the patch is to be applied over LO and not for the original game, then it must be an addendum of LO.

However, we would like to have the Limit Over patch archived here, as well. I believe its still floating around in the internets. The original file is preferable.

Not really sure what your patch actually is since I don't have a reliable emulator to try the hack out. If its just LO in xdelta patch format, then it could pass as an addendum of LO. I'd like to sort this out later. *sigh*

You can always contact the author of the hack to fix that. The review section is not a venue for Bug Reports. Any review that only reports bugs are instantly rejected since its non compliant with the section, unless its accompanied with a full review of the hack.

It's LO + mrs Tea translation in xdelta that applies to redump.

So, should i just resubmit it for the hacks section and you'll remove it from the translation section?

That's the only way. There's no way to move it from one section to another.
