True but that doesn't solve the music issuses with bordes, 1610+08+-no-lowlatency aparently does.

*UPDATE: Forget what I said. I've tested the game deeper and the sound issuses are less but they are still there, shit.  :banghead:

Hello!

First post here. Big thanks to Sluffy and all of the community for all your hard work with Canoe!

I downloaded som recent patches yesterday and noticed that the links for Battle Pinball, Yoshi's Island (U) and Unirally are dead. Would very much appreciate if someone could re upload them or send me a pm.

Thank you!

I have tested all SA-1 Extra Bytes and the only one wich looks to work fine with ID 1610 is 08.
But only apparently, it doesn't solve the music issuse with borders at all.

I was under the impression that Marvelous ONLY works with its official ID?

Thats right but not at all, also runs with 0000 and any SA-1 Extra Byte but with blurry texts and music issuse.

I also tried with other combinations of IDs and Extra Bytes like 9C10+08 and it boots but messed up my console, main menu music sound with black screen when boot.  :P

Could someone share a save file of the Sinistrals Battle of Lufia 2? I would like to test the issue with the spiral wave magical attack. Unfortunately, since Lufia 2 won't be fixed, I will run the game with retroarch if the graphical effect is very odd.

Edit. Ok, I just found a save file from Pimpinelephant in this thread. I'll test it later.

So you're saying that using ID 1610 + an extra byte it runs better than using the official ID?

I just tested and SupaSaian is right, using ID 1610 + 08 -no-lowlatency runs better than using the stock ID 1E11 -no-lowlatency.

I tested at the fish pond while you are still collecting firewood, so tons of fish on screen with the music playing. Using stock ID and -no-lowlatency no game lag, but the music bogs down noticeably, and this is with no borders. Changing to ID 1610 + 08 -no-lowlatency and the music doesn't skip a beat, and no noticeable lag, great find SupaSaian!

I'm not sure but I think the music sounds better with borders using 1610+08+-no-lowlatency than with official ID+-no-lowlatency, thats the reason why I ask yesterday for someone who can confirm it.

Thanks for the tests. Won't be posting anymore if sluffy is not coming back after this fake C&D stuff.

I think that the tests should continue since in the future sluffy maybe come back or someone comes in to replace him to continue with the patches, just as it also serves in the general list to know that games that are not tested work well

So for those who want to continue with the tests these are the 15 games that follow

• J.League Excite Stage '94
• J.League Excite Stage '95
• J.League Excite Stage '96
• J.League Soccer Prime Goal
• J.League Soccer Prime Goal 2

• J.League Soccer Prime Goal 3
• J.League Super Soccer
• J.League Super Soccer '95 - Jikkyou Stadium
• Jammes
• Janyuuki - Gokuu Randa

• JB The Super Bass
• Jigsaw Party
• Jikkyou Power Pro Wrestling '96 - Max Voltage
• Jikkyou Powerful Pro Yakyuu '94
• Jikkyou Powerful Pro Yakyuu '96 - Kaimaku Ban

Translation came out today for Super Robot Wars Gaiden - The Elemental Lords
http://agtp.romhack.net/news.php?date=2018-05-22+06%3A51%3A38

To run it in Canoe I'm using pid 10EF plus extra Byte 09 and -no-lowlatency, the game has sound issues running with 0000, 10EF clears them up.

Gideon Zhi seems to have used the overdumped rom for his base, if using the good dump use Lunar Expand to expand the rom to 32Mbit before applying the translation patch. You can use the overdumped rom but its only in GoodSNES so it's probably harder to find.

I have two questions:

Why do you choose ID EF10?? When you add the game to Hakchi it automatically sets to 9C10...
And why do you choose Extra Byte 09 and not other SA-1 value?? I have tested all six values and didn't feel differences between them...

I kinda just picked 09 to test it out with and the game had sound issues even when I used -no-lowlatency so I tried it with 10EF and the sound issues were gone

Just to add a little...

10EF is a PID that is known to fix some sound issues with other games. So it's good to try it if a game has sound issues.

SA-1 values are different speeds. To pick the "correct" one it's best to figure out what part of the game uses SA-1 and then start at the lowest value and see how it runs. If there are problems then go up a value and treat again.

I'll make a start on a flow chart for testing.

I tested it out with 109C and there are sound issues using that preset, 10EF is the way to go

Good find Bosco82, maybe EF10 can help with sound issuses in other games like Earthworm Jim 2 or The Blues Brothers.

Another ID to solve sound issues is EC10

EF10 and a lot of other pid was already tested a long time ago on Earthwormjim2, since a lot of games with some sound issues were solved with these "sound" pid (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1kyriwV4CSEPuhWWXaxw_YRTgbu4Dh5SE-bf2XwJOdX0/edit#gid=0) : no change, and it would probably never solved by a "simple" preset ID

Hello, Sendspace links have short lifetime unfortunately. But links to these patchs exist outside this thread. Take a look on the community sheet for games compatibility with canoe : https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/12HKfz4ZQBy6Ip5awvh8t2aV5cVswYlnsdKxn9xoIW2Y/edit#gid=2014317767. Ask on PM otherwise ;)
