Doukyuusei 2 (Japan) (NP) (1016)

Look for hires gamma

It's better (https://imgur.com/9vk5Kb9) but background in this screen must be black (https://youtu.be/8V7MmdVi2SY?t=1m50s), the gamma incrase in text boxes seems fixed (https://imgur.com/IRH0ZwI).

Another goofy game.

Assuming it wants to set backdrop to black (0) but doesn't. Canoe treats as transparency error?

Bishoujo Janshi Suchie-Pai = 512x448 hires images. Grey marker.
Aryol = 512x448 logo + title. Grey marker.

Fighting Baseball (Japan) (0000)

fire cli pending irq. maybe fixes freeze after hitting ball.

Ys III - Wanderers from Ys (USA) (0000)
https://www.sendspace.com/file/gby95j

sram + overscan

Fighting Baseball now seems to freezes later but it still freezes (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ooibNhNbblY), I think it can be similar to Madden problem.

Ys III overscan problem solved.

Report issue, after games tested :

Marmalade Boy (Japan)(0000) :
- Sound distorsions, specially noticeable on the intro music (=BGM of the opening song of the Marmalade boy animation TV serie : "Egao ni Aitai"), again a popping bass drum, like it was on Plok or Space Megaforce (nothing change with pid EF10). Appear also on few scenes after that, with some other musics (but less annoying).

- Lots of major freezes when a scene needs to be loaded : loads are specially long in this game, and sometimes (randomly), the loading freeze up forever. The only way to override it, is to use the rewind function on the previous scene and pray this randomly freeze don't happen again on the same loading

Bad news: My main patches will be getting an update later today to address some issues.  Sorry!  With luck this will be the last time for the main patches. :(

Good news: With Sluffy's approval, if I am correct I should be able to actually update the patch for it myself this time around; these changes should be minor, so all I should need to do is patch with the canoe fix, make the changes, and make another patch between it and the updated version of what it's based on.

You'll notice that not much was changed to make this work. So bps could work after your new patch. I have no idea though. However you can make it work is good+ with me. :)

It appears you should be correct in that it should work, however the BPS will not recognize them all the same.  This also happens with my addons upon making new patches so this isn't a huge surprise, it's due to BPS's checking.  I've shifted the format out to IPS to counteract this issue, and it should also work out with the other patches now.

Here's a link.

The Ys3 patch is including all the previous fixes, correct?

I think the answer is yes, at least the in-game saves works for me with that patch.

"Ys IV - Mask Of The Sun" has the overscan problem, with the japan clean ROM the issuse is from you load the game and with the english translated one is when you resume the game from main menu.

Can anyone fix it??

CTFix in IPS is working great from what I hear, just one thing is up that I'm getting in reports...

SkyDark patches use a graphics patch that changes Lightning and Shadow elements to Sky and Dark, as is in the retranslation.  This newest update I fixed them not showing up.

BUT, if you use the Canoe fix on a SkyDark patch the graphics will revert back to Lightning and Shadow.  Modifying them back in via the patch I used to change them in the first place actually will do nothing.

Lufia II - Rise of the Sinistrals (USA) (1016)
https://www.sendspace.com/file/l5cfl7

We played with *lots* of blending options. Using 212f to limit bg3 might work out here. Dark Fry, Devastation Wave, Rally.

Chrono Trigger = huh. I'll try checking this out if kitspin doesn't beat me. Question though: ips basically contains entire vanilla rom in some form. Would that create any uhm . sticky problems with takedowns, moderators or fussy legalists?

Shoot, I didn't realize that but you're right.  That is not ideal to say the least, I should probably remove that from the post.

BPS patches are still the way to go in this case I believe, but you might have to make one for each patch with two of them being fixed for the SkyDark issue.  Either that or just dedicate one single fix to one single patch (I'm perfectly fine with this), I don't think in BPS form that it'll apply to anything but the version it was designed for.

lufia2_2a + 1016
lufia2_2a + 1068

Same results as Bosco82, no change unfortunately.

This is a really tricky one it would seem.

I used a save state right before the Erim fight.
You mentioned this before, but I just wanted to make sure, it should be fine that I'm using a save state?
