Great work with Star wars sluffy! I'm halfway through a new game+ in Chrono Trigger using your patch with zero bugs to report so far.

Congrats sluffy on fixing the latest games!

Any chance of taking a look at Top Gear again?

Thanks to all for keeping me updated! Near 100% perfectly playable is also a good milestone. All that pid research always finds ways to be useful.

No leads on fixing hdma speech. Try slowrom like Tales.

Earthworm Jim 2, Madden NFL 95, Clay Fighter 2, WeaponLord

I'm letting kitspin examine the Top Gear hdma timing since I hit a wall with it. Having another person who doesn't think like me has broken some game barriers.

It's been suggested to get some hires games more decently playable. Like doing a scroll effect for top-256, lower-256. Or pressing L,R to switch halves. Adding button pauses for A.S.P. briefings. Something along those lines.

haisei1.ips = Success!
No more glitchy graphics!

I also tried the tales_1_beta3 English patch with 0000 as well as 1068, both had the same results.
Final screen of attract mode only shows the "produced by Namco" text but no background image is shown.
It's funny, I watched the entire attract mode with one of the first ToP patches and saw this as well, but I totally thought it was supposed to be like that. :banghead:
It's really not a big deal at all, honestly. Super small/miniscule. I'm WAY more happy that the game is actually completely playable on Canoe! ;D

I guess intro, ending splash will both be affected. Mode4 TS16 = Little Magic! Didn't think I'd see that bug again. May not work on this immediately but Canoe bug is documented now.

I lost track of what happened with Winter Gold?

Tested EarthwormJim2 with slowrom patch : no change at all on sound issues. Sorry no time left tot test other games today :(

And for ToP, Yes, also tested Japan (0000;03) : background picture doesn't exist here.
Indeed, it's not so important. For this game, as far as I'm concerned, I should only play it (I'm rather talking about my wife who played most of the others "Tales of") with a french traduction of this game. Unfortunately the 2 that exist don't work with this patch, or I did something wrong I don't know (tried added header with same result). Anyway, this is the only game why I still use retroarch on my SNESC, no complaints here, this situation suits me well :)

Ooh! At least the fix for it is known, so should be less stressful trying to figure it out.
And yeah, like I said, no hurry what-so-ever. Its current state is perfectly fine even if you decide to never work on it. :)

As for Winter Gold, multiplying the FX clock speed by 1.5 correctly emulates SuperFX-2 speeds.
So that part of the game is all fixed.

The only issue remaining now is the de-sync in attract mode (music compared to cutscene).
I can confirm that the cause is PAL to NTSC conversion.
Vanilla PAL = correct sync
Vanilla NTSC = de-sync

Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon S - Kondo wa Puzzle de Oshioki yo! (Japan) (0000)
https://www.sendspace.com/file/3vacjp

Important to compare to this video (Super Retro Trio 3)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WpbRk86JKzk

1) Title screen -- 00:06, 05:09, 08:24
Strange colored lines are visible here too. This is actually a game bug. Also that strangely colored tile near lower-left corner, which is leftover uninitialized vram data (Super Buster Bros rev0 error).

Patch above corrects both problems. Not emulator problem.

2) In-game falling blocks start -- 00:52, 05:31
We see some "garbage" tiles below playfield. Looks normal in a tilemap viewer.

Left alone.

senshi_kondo1.ips = Garbage line is reduced, but still there unfortunately.
The bottom-left garbage tile is gone though!
The garbage line is much less severe, only a couple colored lines are seen.

Also, red dots (exact same as pre-patch Battle Racers) are visible on left-side half.
It looks like the bottom-garbage line becomes more severe every time it returns to that title splash screen.
The first time the splash screen appears (on boot-up), there were no colored lines, only the red dots on the left-side half.

I tried my best to get a good picture of the bottom garbage line, so hopefully the angle isn't too weird.
Garbage Line Picture

All three of the issues(??) appear in Higan with vanilla ROM.
With senshi_kondo1 patch, same results in Higan as on Canoe:
bottom-left garbage tile is gone
bottom garbage line is still visible but less severe
falling blocks at game start causes bottom line to "jump" up

I'm in agreement, the in-game falling blocks start is definitely correct/intentional in order to make you feel the "impact" of the falling blocks.

Side note: Keep in mind, this is a "bug-fix" patch. These issues(?) occur on real hardware.

Clay Fighter 2, Earthworm Jim 2, Madden 95, Weapon Lord SlowROM test
Same results as SupaSAIAN.
Issues do not appear to be SlowROM related.

Scroll bg2 up 1 line ($ffff) to always fix glitchy title. Actually I think this is how it's supposed to look (designer). We'll be labeling this as 'improvement' though and not 'bug-fix'.

If kitspin gives feeds me reports, we'll discuss that one.

I haven't had the opportunity to get the SNES hooked back up re: Micro Machines (US), but the controller issue I was describing before (after going back to look at my notes) is unique to 2-player mode - once you enter that mode, it's impossible for player 2 to enter the game.  It should be incredibly easy to reproduce, but if nobody gets to it before I can, I'll do a video demonstrating the behavior.  (As I said previously, it looks for all the world like the game believes a multitap is connected.)

I think my internal spreadsheet also has notes on a few other misbehaving US/NTSC titles that may not be reflected on the spreadsheet you guys are tracking - can you repost the link to the sheet so I can compare them?

As far as I know, the reyvgm sheet is just a history of sluffy fixes.

The everyone sheet is the status of where we are at with all games.

For any Winter Gold fans, it's one of the games in a motherland of New Old Stock that appeared on eBay in the last day or so. A few copies remaining.

Already got bugged about the new ALTTP x SM randomizer hack. That exhirom conversion is wicked. Can't imagine an s-dd1 conversion doing well. ;)

https://www.zeldix.net/t1702-a-link-to-the-past-super-metroid-crossover-randomizer
https://github.com/tewtal/alttp_sm_combo_randomizer_rom/blob/master/banks.txt

kitspin wonders if originally sa-1 would've worked better than exhirom:
00-1f = alttp
20-3f = alttp (redux)
80-9f = sm1
a0-bf = sm2
c0-cf = sm3a
d0-df = sm3b
e0-ef = randomizer
f0-ff = randomizer

*shrug* Actually this might not work since exhirom needs 40-5f *on top* of this. Whoa. Retroarch for you guys.

senshi_kondo1a.ips = Success!
Oh, the glitchy line is intentional? Interesting.

Bottom-left garbage tile is gone!
Bottom-screen garbage line is gone!

Nice work, as always Sluffy, on this improvement patch! ;D

dharma1.ips = Success!
World map scrolling effect now displays correctly!

Another job well done!

Pretty fun game might I add. I actually played for quite a bit.
