OK. Looks like the MMX3 patch did nothing then.

EDIT: At least not here.

Crap, I was about to declare it fixed, but then I saw a playthrough in an emulator and there's an effect missing.
Take a look at the canoe video and how the boss moves, now look at the game being played on emulators: https://youtu.be/itT98lGnYcA?t=2065

Notice how on emulator his whole body (specially his shoulders) move when he walks? That doesn't happen with Sluffy's patch.

Yes you are right I didn't notice it before, if you want add the save to the doccument for future tests:

Oh no please don't tell me you are using save states to test different patches/methods? :P

You cannot load a save state if you are using a new patch, or new ID, because you also load the old problems with it. Every time you use a new patch, or ID, you have to start from the beginning or with a SRAM, but not with a save state.

I think we need to add the testing guide to the OP

No, I made that save state with my last test and so it's no possible to load previous problems.
Maybe can use that save state to get the SRAM (if the game saves automatically after every stage) and load it in future tests to get to the boss quickly...

Ok good. MMX3 doesn't have SRAM.

I think your first test without the -no-lowlatency had less slowdown than your test with -no-lowlatency. But then again, that slowdown looks normal like something that would happen on a real SNES.

Hi! Is there a patch to fix slowdown in Mega Man X2 (maybe I didn't understand correctly)?

Regarding Rudra no Hihou, in this page, a guy who has speed run records on the game describes two problems introduced by the translation:
Quote
There’s also a few additional glitches introduced with the translation patch that sadly have a negative impact on the speedrun. For one, when cursor memory is enabled and you use a mantra that’s on the later pages (5-8), next time you access the mantra menu the cursor will revert to the same position on the pages 1-4, this is bad if you need to repeatedly use a mantra on the later pages, but you could just make sure you inscribe such mantras on the pages 1-4.
Also (and more importantly), when you use a mantra in battle, your strength and agility mods get replaced based on the 11th and 12th characters of the mantra you use (always 0 or a negative value). And, whenever an enemy uses any skill or mantra, their speed mod will be replaced by a value that depends on the skill or mantra used (usually a positive value). What does this mean though? Long story short, whenever you use a mantra you lose most of your strength and agility, and when enemies do anything they’ll usually gain a very considerable speed boost.
According to the read-me, the translation patch hasn't been updated since 2005. Maybe, sluffy, you could do something about it?

Reyvgm brought to my attention a beta patch released in 2015 fixed these issues, yay!

This thread is to fix issues that happen with Canoe or other emulators, not for issues introduced by a translation.

The group that released the translation is Aeon Genesis, which is still active, so you should try messaging them about that glitch and hopefully they will fix it.

Also, I don't know where you got that the translation was last updated in 2005, the project page has an update patch from 2015

I was referring to the patch uploaded to this website, v.2.0.
But in fact, you are right, a beta patch 2.1b has been released in 2015, whick fixes the bugs I mentionned.
You see, it was a good thing I asked, thank you kindly!
(I will edit my previous post not to confuse sluffy.)

But I think that was the point of the patch, getting rid of the real hardware slowdown since there was no known Canoe related issue in this game anyway. And unfortunately from what I see here it behaves exactly the same as the vanilla Rom. (Where I tested this extensively)

Good news about sprite bug being fixed, we can clear a few more games. Eventually it'll force me to try harder on audio games, since they all look to be the mega cluster.

WWF Super WrestleMania (USA) (0000, clean)
https://www.sendspace.com/file/m1gyzh

No demo mode so you'll have to play. Look for anything funny happens. Sprites disappearing, reappearing.

Eye of the Beholder would be next. Then Masters 2. And I think that's the end of sprite gang. Although raises question about Pit Fighter since it's very similar but still bugs out. :)

Hamelin = a save state before loading boss stage will do. If it's after boss stage loaded, unsure. Could try anyway.

Mega Man X3 = oh well. Didn't take much time away.

===1
Hameln no Violin Hiki (Japan) (1068)
https://www.sendspace.com/file/0swxai

Try again. Look for shoulders to walk slanted, at angle. And body should drop to attack. No head, hands separation.

===2
Advanced Dungeons & Dragons - Eye of the Beholder (USA) (0000, clean)
https://www.sendspace.com/file/lg2gim

Look for half-drawn cursor. Missing enemy tiles. Oam dma problem.

===3
Better news about Troddlers: I can clearly hear it on snes9x 1.51, when using some non-dirty headphones. And working through where it audio overflows. Plus trying to pinpoint where blargg's core avoids this goof up.

===4
Masters - Harukanaru Augusta 2 (Japan) (0000, clean)
https://www.sendspace.com/file/9vx5pu

Check for... sprite problems. Oam dma again.

Also, golf ball (intro) should blend into background. If doesn't try 1068.

===5
PGA Tour Golf (USA) (Rev 1) (0000, clean)
https://www.sendspace.com/file/qooged

Look for missing sports talker portraits, bad pga logo on golf map. Cannon Fodder error.

===6
True Golf Classics - Wicked 18 (USA) (1068, clean)
https://www.sendspace.com/file/ngg5pk

Look for sprite weirdness in-game. And title screen. Look for black bars when navigating menus (ex. created data - erase all data - yes,no)

Cannon Fodder + Lemmings bugs combined.

This should finally get the golf monkey (mostly) off my back. How happy I will be to that list permanently go lower.

- Noticed buried post about BS Zelda: 3rd quest. Please try Canoe hack in emulator. If happens, it's sram mapping (shrinking = problems).

Just tried the canoe patched rom with snes9x and the same issues are present.

I see that the cursor is fixed, but you need to encounter an enemy to see if they are fixed too.

First timer here, so please go easy on me if I missed something reviewing the existing 87 pages.  Great work by @sluffy and all the testers!

@lich
1. Looks like you're missing the "Kirby Dream Land 3 (U)" patch.  Might be worth adding that this should be used with preset ID (9C10 hakchi / 109C SFROM).
https://www.romhacking.net/forum/index.php?topic=25789.msg356310#msg356310

2. Looks like you're missing the "Batman: Revenge of the Joker (U) (proto)" patch.
https://www.romhacking.net/forum/index.php?topic=25789.msg356129#msg356129

3. I believe the README.txt for "Chrono Trigger (U)" has the wrong SFROM preset ID.  Bytes should be swapped, not reversed.  Should be "110B" instead of "11B0".

Oh you killed it so fast I didn't even see him. Yep, Eye of the Beholder fixed too!

I see that the cursor is fixed Beholder, so are the enemies.

Hamelin seems to be fixed. The head of the boss disappearing when a rock falls on your character also happens on emus. So unless another boss further on has issues, the game seems to be fixed.

Masters - Harukanaru Augusta 2 is better but it will has issues.

PGA Tour Golf seems to be fixed.
True Golf Classics seems to be fixed.
WWF Super WrestleMania seems to be fixed.

Congrats sluffy on fixing so many games in one go :)
And thanks SUPERSAIAN for the tests. By the way, how in the heck do you play and move the character while also holding a camera?

It's SupaSAIAN not SuperSAIAN.
Hahaha it's hard to do it with only one hand, I have to find an easiest way to record the tests.  :laugh:

*UPDATE: Got it!!! This will be my new set up to record the tests lol

Very nice work! Just catching up. A relief to know that Lemmings issue won't haunt me again.

BS Zelda = meh. Work on this sometime.
