Nintendo Switch ROM bothering coming up
« on: February 02, 2018, 10:05:56 am »
I know we don't deal in current patches but I will mention it anyway as some still like to tinker and thus it is of interest.

It seems "the Master Key for Firms 1.0.0-2.3.0" was released in a NFO for a recent Switch game dump. This would then allow you to decrypt anything said firmwares could decrypt, including the games, from the comfort of your own PC (no needing a hacked device to do it for you unlike points during the 3ds lifetime).
It is a fairly old firmware (3.0 hit on the 19th of June 2017, not sure what notable games then want a higher one). I am not aware of any public tools for either unpacking or decryption so there is also that.

There are some hacks and emulators coming up for the Switch so you will be able to run stuff in what looks like the near term but for now this will probably be assets and some kind of static analysis. Some of the hardware is known too http://switchbrew.org/index.php?title=Memory_layout
