Author Topic: Web version of the very first Final Fantasy game now playable on FFRK website.  (Read 1120 times)

It's in japanese, but many of us played though that game many times it shouldn't be a issue anyway.

Graphically, it looks like the GBA version (with FFRK sprites for the battles), but plays similar to the old NES version (the invisible lady of Cornelia even appears here!).

A good tribute to not only the game that started it all, but the entire Final Fantasy series in general.

Happy 30th anniversary Final Fantasy! May the fantasy never end!

Does it use the original magic system too, or MP?

Yes. It still uses the vancian system from the original.

It sticks much closer to the original, from what I hear the only big change (outside of fixes and graphics) is the text is altered in a lot of places to talk about the anniversary.

Why does it look like the game text was typed out on a keyboard with a haunted shift button? o.O

EDIT: Oh I see, after reading up it's because of how the text is done using the browser.

From what I read only certain characters exist in the game's font, so it's using those and replacing the missing characters with browser defaults.
