Update By: Tom

The version 2.0 patch for Tengai Makyou Zero (an RPG for the Super Famicom) has been released for download. All of the issues with the game that were found in the version 1.0 patch have been addressed.

The patch translates the text and graphics from Japanese into American English. Note that some emulators may have trouble running the patched version of the rom, but that is due to faulty emulation rather than a problem with the patch. (It can be run on real hardware by modifying the original Japanese cartridge.)

In addition, all of the game's packaging (including the box, manual, and all of the inserts) have been translated, and the link can be found on the project page and in the readme. (The readme also contains some secret information about a hidden event in the game, for those who take the time to read it!)

Woo Hoo! I'm so happy I can barely type this post!

Tengai Makyou Zero had been on my "to play list" for more than a decade (since 2004 to be exact!!!), but with my zero Japanese skills it was a no-no.

A toast to every great soul who made this marvel possible. It sounds like this translation was no walk in the park. Good God! I can't believe you pulled off this one, Folks! Almost unbelievable! You are truly

A-W-E-S-O-M-E!!!

Note: thank you kindly for the bonus manual too, I appreciate the attention very much.

Can this run on the SNES Classic?

Also, what emulators exactly are having issues with the real time clock?

No it will not, because the classic's games in any region have no reason for it.  Did TMZ even get released on the Virtual Console in Japan?

As for what's left that's having an issue I think ZSNES is the only one without RTC now, but I've also heard of patches for that lately.

I think the fuller answer is that the official snes classic emulator can not at all. But if you soft moded your console to run the retroarch core it could. Im pretty sure I saw the core on github get updated with recent snes9x which would have the changes.
I have a console so i could try tomorrow and see the results.

I just wanted to report a thing that might be useful for people to know: I patched the game with the ips patch, and--playing it on a Mac with OpenEmu, so the SNESX core--the problem with the clock game up (the numbers whizzing through the cycle), and after that, the game hung on the second text window of the introduction.  It seemed unplayable, but on a whim, I tried using the .bps patch instead, and for whatever reason, bam, everything worked perfectly.  And that...is my story.

Latest update officially has it, and RetroArch with the plain snes9x core (no older builds I'm guessing).  There's also the bsnes cores of course.

Many versions of snes9x and some versions of Higan don't emulate the rtc properly. One guy playing on the mini with retroarch and snes9x core said on twitter that the real time clock doesn't work in the mini, even though it does on his PC.

It's not easy to tell which versions of snes9x run the rtc properly, but some run it without issue. Can't say which ones, though. I use bsnes.

I need to get around to trying it on CATSFC.

If someone else already has, how was it?

hi guys, new to the group. first post. I had always heard this was one of the better sfc rpgs so I just started playing this last night and I'm a few hours into it so far. the time system is interesting, This morning when i started the game back it told me today was the last day of winter break. i can see how this would up he replay value. so far the game seems pretty polished. the battle system view remind me of super shell monsters story . the graphics seem pretty top notch too. So far id say this game is living up to the hype. Im guessing its probably not a good idea to use save states in this game? seems that would mess up the time system so ive just been saving at inns and stuff the official way. also game works perfectly on snes9x custom build.

Your probably right on the rtc, i dont think the mini has a battery to keep the time.

It is perfectly acceptable to make and use save states while playing this game, it will not mess with the time system at all.

Are there any emulators on Android this will work with?
I've tried three already, but none have worked.

RetroArch's SNES9x core, just the plain core.
