Adding battery bak Sram to save high scores? On Jamma PCBs
« on: October 16, 2017, 04:21:48 am »
Hello,

Has anyone looked into replacing a Jamma boards SRAM (were the high scores are kept)
With battery backed sram??? So the high scores could be saved???

Done some googleing.. But it probably game specific... Haven't found anything.

I was thinking MAME source may list what is stored in each of the srams... OR the chip address were the high score data is.

Better to change to FRAM so you don't need a battery either.

FRAM isn't just a "drop in" replacement for SRAM. Needs a little bit more logic to be drop in...

OR i would be using fram :-)

I was going to make up a small PCB with the fram and extra logic built in.... But never got around to it.
