Star Fox 2 Fan Finished Vs Official Release Versions

So now that it's been released, and presuming you've seen/played/finished both the unofficial and official versions, which do you like better? And why?

I'd be really interested in seeing a detailed list of differences.

I mentioned this earlier, but the finished version has the lock-on feature omitted. Now space battles are difficult, not due to challenge but by technical reasons.

Why?

If this design fault becomes too frustrating, I might not even bother unlocking expert mode.

Oh, and using the ".srm" save from the finished beta with the final ROM won't work. I even made a ".ips" to append the changes from the final version's ".srm" to the finished beta save, and it didn't do anything.

It's actually not completely omitted. They made it an obtainable power-up. Get every medal and you can find it at the Secret Base.
That said, TCRF has a list of differences.
Ooh, they said this planet was cold, but it's sooo hot here!

Those differences are between the actual beta and the official game. This poll is about the unofficial fan finish game, which is in english, and the official game.

Yup! Most of this applies to that version too, though, aside from the fact that it removes debug features (which also altered the title screen options).
Bugs -mostly- aren't mentioned (most of the finishing is bugfixing). Am I mistaken? I'm pretty sure that there wasn't much done besides bugfixing and debug feature removals.
(Well, there's bombs not working, which I believe was fixed in the fan version, but isn't that about it out of the stuff mentioned?)

Edit: From the readme of the translation patch, the differences between the fan version and the prototype are:
Quote
What the "Final" patch does:
--Removes "Test", "Training", and "Config" from the title menu
--Removes the frame counter from the upper-left corner of the screen
--Enables damage to Corneria
--Removes the sprite data counter from lower-right of the map screen
--Removes cheat functions built into the debug version
--Fixes a bug if you try to transform into Walker mode in space missions

Also, a few other changes inclusive to both patches:
--The title screen was altered with a new, flashier title logo.
--All instances "Andorf" were changed to "Andross" in keeping with the US
  releases of the series
--All instances of "Algy" were changed to "Andrew" in keeping with the US
  releases of the series
So basically, all of the stuff from the link applies except the debug/cheat features and title screen stuff!
(Funny enough, it doesn't even mention that Corneria damage doesn't work in the prototype.)

One of the things not mentioned is that the beta often hard crashed and was unfinishable as the last boss fight would black-screen the game. The fan game did a lot of fixes like stated above but also made the game playable, start to finish. It also polished up the rough edges, but that was implied.

I have not. Anyone else?

It's interesting how the vote turned out. Didn't see most people choosing the third option.

EDIT; For those interested, Polygon did an interview with Dylan Cuthbert, the lead dev for the game.

It was an interesting and enjoyable read.
