Megaman 3 Justiley
« on: September 03, 2017, 04:21:49 pm »
Hi!

I am working on what will be the new hack for Megaman 3.

Its name will be Megaman 3 Justiley, acronym of Justin Bailey, since aesthetically will be influenced mainly by Metroid.

As always, it pretends to be a tribute to Megaman, reason why the gameplay will not change substantially, nor the mobility of the majority of the enemies.

The starting point is that the first 12 scenes have completely different graphics, all squeezing the basic engine of Megaman 3

The current level of progress is 50%

I leave some illustrative images.

Why not take this hack to the next level - with a nice samus-megaman?

Interesting. I had not thought of it
It would be simple to make two versions, one with Megaman and another with Samus
They also asked me to make a "Speed" version. So the contributions are appreciated.
Where can I find these sprites? ... and if they are already encrusted in the original Megaman 3 better.
Keep in mind that for the experience to be complete, the giant Megaman of "Get the Weapon" should also be edited.

Hi!

These are the breakthroughs.
I am moving very slowly. But 60% of the scenes are already edited!

I await comments.

As a bigger fan of 3 & 4 than 5 or 2, I would love to grab a working copy of this. Looks like it's coming along nicely and I'll be glad to be patient. Good luck on the remaining 40%!

Its name will be Megaman 3 Justiley, acronym portmanteau of Justin Bailey

Fixed that for you.

This looks great! Do you need any more testers? MegaMan 3 is my favorite in the classic series and this looks amazing!

That's ironic for me too! This game doesn't get enough love and I would like to definitely play this hack of it too. Just another one to add to the list as 9 sucked so hard that I uninstalled in off my PS3! At least 10 is a much better game and I can play as Bass too!

I meant to just try this out briefly, but ended up getting sucked in and playing it a bunch today. It's really a fantastic hack! Beautiful stages with some neat design choices (I love the use of riding the magnet enemies to get across the spikes in Magnet Man's stage). Only real gripe is the buffed-up boss health vs the megabuster. Since their patterns are unchanged, the bosses aren't necessarily harder, just more tedious to take down unless you always exploit their weakness.

In any case, it's altogether a great experience for fans of MM3

Hmm... I'll give this hack a shot soon. It got me interested in trying some Mega Man hacks once again.
