I know these projects take a lot of time and effort but I can't wait to play it XD. I love the sprite designs you've come up with. Amazing work hope you keep at it.

My first playground with Character Sprites. I'm on a learning exercise, on the way but not quite there i think. What do you think?

I love the 4th one. It looks very authentic. :)

Honestly they are a bit underwellming at the moment.
The 2nd one has best proportions, but 3rd and 4th one are shaded much better.
But keep on trying.
If you can do nice backgrounds then surely with a bit of will you'll be able to learn how to do nice sprites.

As I have some R&R tonight I made a concept reference if  you want to use it.  It should fit as there is some space in front of Samus's feet.  Do what you want with it.  Tried to make it look like the Zero Mission stance :)

Hey pal, thanks!
Unfortunately the sprite is 3 pixels too wide, but i sincerely cheer your design and will integrate it into a new sprite, mixing my and your ideas thus doing a 16*32px sprite.
Again thanks for your donation :)
P.S. The zero mission design is what i also had in mind. You nailed it!

Let's see what a sprite will come out in the end.

Not a problem :)

Oh, was it too  big?  I  judged it from what I saw via a screenshot I took and looking at the YYCHR info it had so made it a tad bigger from the original to fit into the allotted area given.  No matter man, glad to help :)

Hey dude, my bad, your sprite was NOT too big. I did not consider there is an extra tile for the "gun-part". I just begin to make sense of the confusing arrangement of the sprite tiles. There is some immense amount of work coming with all that!

Furthermore i plan to do an own sprite for every area. I will have a  "lit helm-part" for the cave part, a big helmet and a breathing device, a scuba for a possible underwater part and so on.
but that's a long term task for sure.

Redoing the whole stuff cause i was not satisfied with the level design.
I inserted the new sprite and messed with the palettes as you can see.

Thanks.
I have not yet worked out a full fledged story. But i feel most comfortable with a kinda parallel universe story.
I work out more samus sprites over time. Right now i want to push the new landscape.

Some screenies from New Brinstar to keep you in tune!

Please note the screens are still subject to change, polish and stuff. Cheers!

Drafted some nifty snowy landscape plus snowstorm.
Nothing finished, not at all, but what do you think?

Hello Space Pirates,

first of a Happy New Year!

To prove i have done something, here's a picture of a the reorganization of the Green Tiles (means rounden up the design while minimizing the tiles needed). I am quite happy with the result. This is a playground for the new Tiles:

I copied all Tiles from Norfair to Ridley Area (long and tedious work let me tell ya), cause i recognized this being better suited for the Green Area. And the Temple.
Norfair is now a rather liquid surrounding ^^.

And a random landscape picture of Brinstar to show the final (at least i think so) palette choice
As mentioned earlier.

I composed three new songs with MetroidTuner. I am slowly ready to release a full album  :^_^: Makes me wonder if and how i can squeeze all this into the ROM.
I am gonna upload the new songs anytime soon.

I experimented with snow as well (example picture above), but that's nothing to show off, yet.

Furthermore i drew a few plans and ideas. This time i want to do it much more foresighted; i wanna know beforehand what i am doing the best I can. A neat little example is this :

That's it for now.
