YYChr has several buttons that let you move through the ROM at different rates:
The '+' and '-' buttons in the middle adjust by 1 byte.
And no, I can't recommend a better tile editor. TileMolester is awkward Java garbage, and TLP is lacking some intuitive functionality. YYChr is horribly dated, and the .net version is glitchy to the point where it's barely usable.... but there really isn't anything I've found that's better.
It's kind of like ROM-hacking Hex editors -- all of them are kind of garbage. Though admittedly I haven't really looked that hard. Maybe there's some awesome tile editor that I just haven't heard of.
