Ya, this game is for sure in need of a solid fan translation as the one that appeared a number of years ago was poorly done and very incomplete (tons of errors, etc.).

Right, though little advaces are made translating the script, so I couldn't do anything else even if I had all free time in the world

Does anyone remember the Japanese RS3 Bokuno hack? It adds lots of quests and content from other RS games. I am wondering if this will get translated someday...

It would be great to add those improvements to my version, however I read Bokuno's and official versions are almost different games, not just some added quests. But I've not played it, so I can't tell.

Eien sent to me some more parts translated to english, and I inserted the scripts succesfully; here you have some screenshots:

This looks quite amazing! I love the font as well.

Bokuno contains the base game, along with added quests based upon quests from other Romancing SaGa games. Some of the unfinished quests from RS3 were finished and extended as well.

Then I could give a look to it and look for the new content. If there were source code for it, that would be great!

Anyone know what happened to that one team that was working on SaGa Frontier unfinished content? They have their group locked for the most part over at the TCRF that provides the link to them.

Did anyone here realise, that the final area of the Abyss is a shout-out to the world of darkness from Final Fantasy III?

Destroyer = Cloud of Darkness
4 Demon Lords = 4 Warrior of Darkness

Hey. I couldn't find this thread in a search results page, only found it from a link at the end of the game's Spanish translation thread, weirdly enough.

I hope you'll forgive the 'minimal' bump because this is critically relevant to this series of games. My favourite SNES fan channel 'SNES drunk' has created a new series retrospective video of Romancing SaGa, uploaded at the start of this month of August. I think it also would be prudent to link it in the OP.

The project is not dead, paused or stalled, just on holiday

Both Eien and me came back to work recently and I tried to insert the main dialogue script, which is fully translated. I found a problem, there must be some weird character in the third script file (the one in bank $FC) but I could't find it yet. As soon as I insert it, I'll post some new screenshots.

Yep, I've finished the main script and am now working on the supplemental text. This includes stuff like the Trading Minigame and Mikhail's Ruling Minigame. I'm currently buying a house and planning an interstate move, so working on RS3 is actually a nice way to relieve stress.

Once magno gets everything inserted, though, the game will need some serious playtesting. I'd also be interested in translating the Bokuno hack sometime in the future.

Btw is there any chance to someone finish the Romancing Saga 2 for SNES? Would be great if the whole series will be english in the future. (google translate will be enough if you dont have free time because of your moving and house buying and if someone send me the script I can translate it with google translate. I think its better than nothing)

Umm... I just realized that my last post in this thread was deleted... $:-\$

I'm stuck in inserting bank $FC text because there is some text character which can't be recongnized by my tool... it looks like converting between text formats in Notepad++ makes some weird characters to be left in the file.

As soon as I find the damned character, I'll insert it all and will look for beta-testers.

Gideon Zhi is working on it for years but he is stuck somewhere i believe.

I really sweet port of RS 2 is on IOS with new sprites and it looks just wonderful
