Exactly. Just make it easier and provide a direct link to what you are using.
They can't really do that. It's against RHDN forum rules, because it is legally iffy. The idea is that under optimal circumstances you would be making the disc image yourself from a CD you already own. However, even that can not guarantee successful creation of a compatible image for the patches to be applied to.

Was referring to the supposed version of the patcher that works. Turns out its the patch for that particular version of the game itself. Obviously, every forum has the same rules regarding piracy...

Just here to report a glitch in Vay Unworked. If it was already reported, let me know.

Whenever someone uses a spell while in AI mode, the person that used the spell will have its MP skyrocket.

I've been racking my brain trying to make them work and finally found a quick, clean way of doing it without crap software like Daemon Tools and UltraISO.

- Use this Python tool to merge all .bin files into one bin/cue pair: https://github.com/putnam/binmerge You have to install Python for Windows (I can't really say how to make this step in Mac), put the .bin files and .cue file in the same folder as binmerge, hold the Shift key and right click to open a "Command line in this folder". Type "py binmerge cuefile.cue newbinfile" in the console, without quotes.

- Move the new .bin and .cue files to the patch folder and patch it like the readme says.

- Now you can either play the game in iso/wav format, or you can save up disk space and have a tidy ROM folder converting it to .chd, if the emulator supports it: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B-ElaPpvBHs5aUd0QUM3c05kY2c/view Download the chdman.exe from the lastest MAME release and you're good to go.

Just wanted to give a shout out to this user for sharing this .bin merging program! I've spent hours trying to solve my problem, and this did it. Like many I am also using the Redump for Lunar.

One thing to keep in mind - don't actually type "cuefile.cue" - use the name of your own .cue file. If it has spaces, you may need to surround just the file name with quotes.

Would "Albert Odyssey: Legend of Eldean" require an Un-Worked Designs treatment or is the difficulty balancing intact?

EDIT: Yup. According to "The Cutting Room Floor" (https://tcrf.net/Albert_Odyssey:_Legend_of_Eldean), they messed with the prices of healing items. :\

any plans on adding a patch for arc the lad collection? it seems those games also got their difficulty screwed up by wd. as i have read the final boss of 2  is impossible to beat unless you get a secret party member or just grind.

Hi,

I saw that for Lunar SSSC on PSX, there was a patch that adjusted MP Values for Jessica. I was wondering how this was done or what the offsets are for all character skill mp values. I am fairly well versed in HEX but cannot find much related to this game to edit it so I thought I would ask.

I want to adjust mp costs for spells and skills and if I knew the offsets for these that would help.

Any other information regarding offsets for characters stats would be helpful as well as I wanted to start a hack for this game and thought that would be good place to start. Thanks.

Joe

Thank you for repairing so much of the damage done by WD. Their BS has long kept me from enjoying many of those games, so I really appreciate being allowed to experience them in their legit, unadulterated form (crappy dubs aside) as intended by the devs without having to play the Japanese versions.

Voice redubs are doable considering this was amateur level voice acting back in the day, so I think anyone can pull that off if needed.

I'll just be happy with an undub since a lot of people aren't doing redubs of games too much nowadays.

I'd love to enjoy these patches, but the point of entry seems impenetrable at this point  :banghead:
I'm sure I'm not smart enough, but this whole process has taken convoluted to whole new level for me. I've never had so much trouble trying to patch something before. Surely something can be done to alleviate the entire process for users, while still staying inside the legal boundaries?

Anyway, admire the work. Wish I was able to actually enjoy it.

Awesome thread. I've always thought the Lunar games look beautiful, but was disappointed when I actually played it due to all the grinding. I think I'll give the series another shot.

Whoah, is this why the final boss of ATL2 was so absurd?
I had the "Secret" party member and I still had a hard time. I can't even remember how many times it took to finally beat it. And I think I ended up having to go back and grind a bit more too.

------------ Sega CD ------------

Lunar: The Silver Star (Sega CD) -- patch v1 (2/24/17)

Tested all the way through and should work fine. Since there's so much text, though, it's infeasible for me to check every single conversation for text box overflows and other issues. If anything goes wrong, let me know.
Changes:
Spoiler:
* All enemies have their stats restored to their original, lower amounts from the Japanese version. Note that in a rarity for a Working Designs release, only six enemies were changed, mostly bosses.
* Shrine donations were raised to 100s each in the US version; they're now 10s, as in the JP version. It still takes ten donations to get the bonus song, regardless of version.
* In the US version, donations to the shrine near the Red Dragon Cave were mistakenly made to give the player money instead of taking it away. This has been fixed.
* The US version modified the very end of the game to make Alex take extremely high damage from Luna's lightning blasts unless the player uses the Alex's Harp item. This has been restored to the Japanese behavior, where he always takes the reduced amount of damage.
* All hexagrams and pentagrams, which were removed from the US version at Sega of America's behest, have been restored. This includes the icons for the Light Barrier and Power Barrier items, as well as the various teleportation circles throughout the game.
* Xenobia's nude battle graphics have been restored.
* The brief nude shot of Luna in the ending was given a washed-out palette in the US version; it's been reverted to the original one.
* Though not technically a "restoration", all text has been converted to proper mixed case instead of all caps, and has been proofread to remove the most egregious errors.
* Related to the above, the original English font had very poor proportioning that made upper case and lower case letters look very awkward together. This patch tweaks the font to hopefully make it easier on the eyes.

Lunar: Eternal Blue (Sega CD) -- patch v3 (2/24/17)

Tested all the way through. Due to having lots of text, I may have missed issues with text overflowing boxes, etc., so let me know if anything blows up.
Changes:
Spoiler:
* All enemies have their stats restored to what they were in the Japanese version. (The US version increases most enemies' HP by 25% or more, and also drastically increases many enemies' Attack and/or Defense).
* Saving no longer costs Magic EXP.
* Items that were made more expensive in the US version now cost the original amounts.
* Spells that had their MP costs raised in the US version have been restored to the original costs.
* The Althena statues that require donations to use have had their fees reduced to the original amounts. (All but one were originally 100s per use.)
* The mayor of Larpa's information fee has been restored from 500s to the original 30s.
* The replaced music in the Star Dragon Tower has been removed.
* The swapped icons for the Heal Litany and Calm Litany spell lines have been reverted.
* Various bits of censorship done to meet Sega of America's content policies have been undone:
  * The minor changes to the nude shots of Lucia in the opening cutscene have been reverted.
  * All pentagrams (large and small teleport pads, Magic Shield icon, various battle animations) have been restored.
  * The nude shot of Luna in the flashback to The Silver Star (which was edited in that game as well) has been restored.
  * Plantarium/Plantella's nudity has been restored.
* Though not technically a "restoration", all text has been converted to proper mixed case instead of all-caps, and has been proofread to remove the most egregious errors. Since the game's original English font didn't look very good with combined upper and lower case letters, it's also been tweaked a bit to hopefully look better.

So I noticed the font for Lunar 1 and 2 on Sega CD looks almost identical to the 8x16 font used in Grandia on the Sega Saturn:

I've had a few people complain about the exact same issue you guys had with the font being misaligned. However my attempts to correct it haven't really looked right. I was wondering if you guys would mind either sharing your modified font or explaining the changes you made to it?

I noticed there's no patch for Cadash (PCE). Did WD leave the difficulty alone for that one?

I love the idea of these and thank you so much for doing these patches! i'd love to stream them if i can get them to work!

So im using the fusion emulator. That said, I've made the new iso with the isopatch batfile, and made new wavs to go with the cue from the binpatch batfile. Anytime any of the music that is needed from those file comes up in heavy static (like lunar 1). the games themselves play fine and the new text looks great! what am i doing wrong?

for lunar 2, the game stalls out when loading the opening fmv when you start a new game. am i doing something wrong? and ive tried turning on and off perfect sync on fusion. thanks again.

Nothing's so difficult in Wrecking Designs games as putting up with the "humor" that wasn't funny when we were twelve.

didn't arc the lad collection leave out the casino game extra disc too?

Can you just make your download links in the original post blue, please

Some of us know what the internet has been up to now and just expect links to be blue, ok
