Of course a lot of these games suck.  California games is garbage compared to Skate or Die and T&C Surf Designs (though that one's only 2 player).  Of course some games such as game shows that actually use the multi adapter may make silly amusing drinking games.

I got information from a few different places, some youtube videos, an old magazine, stuff I found myself, and I don't think anyone else has this much of a list.  Of course the Technos games are most of the best.  People with either flash carts or who can get ahold of some imports should be interested to know that Nekketsu Cross Country works with US multi hardware.

By playable with JPN hardware, do you mean that those games support three players (one on each controller, and one through a controller through the expansion port)?

You don't need R.O.B. to play Gyromite. in fact, Gyromite is WORSE if you use ROB in most cases.

Stack Up requires R.O.B. however, as the game itself is more or less just a interface for you to make R.O.B. stack some blocks.

an NES emulator should be able to interact with R.O.B. so long as you have a CRT monitor.

SNES - Pinball Dreams can do like 8 or so players with 1 controller.
Like Super Mario Land? Then you'll love my first completed Rom Hack: Maniac on the Run!

Ha, just noticed this:

http://www.romhacking.net/forum/index.php/topic,22726.html

Actually I haven't played with the Powerpad since sometime around 1988 to 1991 when my Dad borrowed it with World Class Track Meet from a friend at work.   Someone recently gave me a nice condition one but I currently don't have any carts for it.

Was browsing the homebrew section of site and found some cool stuff:

N-Warp Daisakusen for SNES is 8 players!  Need two multitaps.  I don't know of any emus that support more than 5.

All for NES:

Kill Your ****ing Friends is 4 players

Russian Roulette is up to 6 players taking turns.  Though there's a Super Russian Roulette in the works on kickstarter.

Thwaite for 8-bit NES supports the SNES mouse!

Why... it hasn't been updated in 17 years and it shows, it only supports the handful of most common US mappers, and even then not accurately.

Surely these lists have got to be out there somewhere already?

I'm thinking there are probably a bunch of JPN titles that used the keyboard.

There are, I think mobygames had some lists. I remember finding lists for sega consoles and adding them to the sega retro wiki.

Ah good old Nesticle.  heh heh

I'm with KingMike on this one, let Nesticle stay where it belongs, in the past. Nestopia and FCEUX are far superior in features, compatibility and accuracy.

Heh I just loaded up Nesticle recently to see what old Technos Samurai save states I had to save as a normal sav compatible with everything.  Not much other point in messing with it now, but I appreciated that and Genecyst ran fullspeed on my first computer that was a 120mhz Pentium 1 with 32MB ram.  Thing still works actually though a bit finicky and several pieces of its hardware had to be replaced in its early years.

Tried out some stuff.

The Genesis version of Saturday Night Slam Masters though it came out later and is 1MB larger (4MB opposed to the 3MB SNES or rather a 32Megabit cart compared to 24), it's cut down to 2 players and only 1 on 1 matches.  It has a deathmatch mode with bombs added that according to a review on gamefaqs was going to be in Slam Masters 2 before it got canceled without even coming out in arcades.  Can't remember if I ever played the arcade, but some large characters have crappy animation with probably lots of missing frames in both home versions.

Super Off Road while 4 players on NES but with only a small selection of tracks, is cut down to only 2 players on SNES and Genesis.  It has a lot of tracks and is faster paced on at least SNES.  Didn't play the Genesis much yet.  The SNES version is also turned into a Toyota commercial with music from the commercials though.

Super Off-Road was likely cut to 2-players on the 16-bit consoles as SOR was a fairly early release on both systems and probably predates their 4-player adapters (Super Multitap and EA 4-Score/Sega Team Player, respectively).
