ExdeathAnimus wasn't satisfied with how his earlier Dracula turned out in the final product, and he redrew him.

I am liking the face a lot more here.

I'll have a go at converting him pretty soon. Maybe this weekend.

That Dracula looks sexy :P
He surely looks refined, yet angry, as Dracula is supposed to be.

It kinda looks like he's smiling in the old pic.

On the subject of optimisations,
The more I looked at my previous locket portrait the more obvious it seemed that Eric was half a floating body.
And so I retouched it up to make it a bit better hidden. If you can be bothered, here is the new version

That looks pretty nice too.

Does it seem like kojima drawings tho?

Stella eyes look weird. I think it's the white dots, that i suppose were meant to be the eye non-pupil part or reflection but now look like pure black with anime shining reflection eyes. Almost vampiric or insectile in fact eh. Or possibly kryptonian before a heat beam.

Looking at the originals both girls have huge expressive eyes with reflections but Loretta downsized to disguise them and Stella to make the reflection take over the pixels.

Cool Dracula. The other one looked that he didn't care about you because he was a swarmy tall asshole that uses hair gel but this one looks like he doesn't care because he votes republican and is proud of being evil.

Hmm, I see what you mean,
Okay I went back to the previous version and just fixed Erics floating body

Oh the eyes were a edit? I can see why you tried. I prefer this one ofc, even if the eyes of both girls dont look the best.

I'm not a graphics artist, but i vaguely remember that there are techniques to downsize and even pixelize that are more effective than the naive way to do it. I think it was called 'unsharp mask' in photoshop, but as mentioned i'm not a graphics artist. Or is it the palette that is limiting quality?

Have you tried to give both girls a skin tone on the original portrait like Eric (but lighter) and see how the downsizing comes out? I know it's not like the original art, but a bit of contrast might make the downsizing tool have better results since Eric came out so well with nice contrast of eye and eyebrow.

@SCO I had a look but I don't think the darker skin tone would really suit. Considering the small size of the image + palette restrictions on top, other downsizing options would likely get similar results  :P

@ShadowOne333 Yeah I don't think I've got any more changes to make, so feel free to add this in when you are ready  :)

Yeah, I'm all for replacing Dracula, unless someone else notices an imperfection.

The skin came out a lot better. It became too smooth and dark in the previous version.

I found a bug in Castlevania Portrait of Elegance with Richter & Maria mode, when Maria jumps she crosses part of the platform where she collides when jumping

I'm not quite sure what do you mean, and the image you seemed to attach doesn't show up at all, I think the link to the image is missing.
Do you have a proper image or a video of the issue?
This hack doesn't touch any in-game sprite at all, much less anything gameplay related.
It only modifies the portrait images and a couple palettes, nothing else, so if that happened, it's most likely caused by a wrong base ROM, or a glitch in the original game.

Maybe Cooligno's referring to how Maria's hitbox is half the size of her body.

Maria's collision box attribute is not glitch but rather the designers designed it that way, Old Axe Armor player share the same attribute so that Old Axe Armor can fit in narrow paths as he has no sliding ability

I think the Ranking menu is still using the original portraits
