This is what I got. Tried shaping some buns for Stella, tried blending in Loretta's hair a bit (though it's probably wasted effort for the size of the locket), and made Eric's hair longer.

Will it be someday compatible with the european release?

Ooh nice! I like the reshading of Loretta's hair
Great job with Stella's buns! Something about her right-sided bun (her right) seems a bit off though, probably the perspective (as she's standing at a slight angle).
I tried adjusting it just a bit:

I also slightly altered the head and left-sided bun shapes (and lazily added in some extra hair texture)

Awesome.

This is a quickly retextured locket, using the texture from the sisters' dresses:

and one that is already color-reduced, in case color reduction after the composition is complete gives too much precedence to the locket (over the actual portraits):

Great designs, guys!

How's this for the locket texture based on Johann's design?

I haven't implemented Zierrion's new portrait for the locket yet, but it should be easy to do it.
Do you guys want the portrait with the spear and characters, or without the spear and only the 3 characters?

Edit:
Tried out the image without the 3 characters, here's how it'd look in-game with the latest changes:

There's still some issues with the indexed palette.
Maybe using some sort of sepia filter to go more in tone with the current palette would work the best?

Okay, gave it a go.

Firstly, trialled some additional locket textures:
Spoiler:
My attempt at combining the portraits/reshading to more closely match current palette/rotate:
Spoiler:

Final outcome at 16 colours

Hope one of these look okay in-game

Amazing work, Johann and Zierrion!
I had to go with No. 2 from your mockups:

#2 was the only one that had minimal to zero sacrifices when it comes to the overall mockup compared to the in-game version.
I also hacked the palette for the locket to accommodate for the colours that image use, so it should look almost 1:1 with the mockup.
I would have gone for #3, but sadly that one lost some of the grey shading when I inserted it into the game, so #2 was the selected one.

That said, I have already made the proper changes, and redid the main Portrait of Elegance xDelta patch, as well as the SotN Death patch too.

Please, try them out and let me know if the new locket shows up properly, and if the SotN Death patch works over an already patched Portrait of Elegance ROM:

Portrait of Elegance RC2:

SotN Death Portrait patch (fixed, patch over an already patched Portrait of Elegance ROM):
https://www.dropbox.com/s/edj3lxv29id7nbq/SotNDeath.xdelta?dl=0

Please, let me know if there's anything odd, and if not, tell me that the game/patch is okay so I can update the hack page with the new patches, and properly close up this project :)

Here are some oddities that I've found:

Every instance of a white flash now has a grey color.

Graphical glitches in the status screen.

Jonathan's image in the menu looks blurry.

Other than that, the locket image looks perfectly fine in the game. :)

Awesome!
Thanks for the confirmation.
I just went ahead and sent the update submission. :)
The update should include the new locket, as well as the new Pause/Menu assets.
The SotN Death portrait patch should also be updated and working properly now.

Oh and I also added you, Zierrion, to the Credits list, for your contribution with the artwork on the last couple pages :P

Oh wow, cheers!  XD

Graphical glitches in the status screen.
@Masked Dedede
Oh no you're right, can't believe I didn't notice that playing through half the game just now.. (didn't realise it was a glitch)
@ShadowOne333
Could this be due to the palette adjustments for the locket image? I believe that was the only major change that was made (everything else was just swapping over stuff that's been changed already?). If that is the case, ?may just need to sacrifice some of the locket image detail to keep the original palette..
Apologies for the premature all good  :-\

@Masked Dedede and @Zierrion
Sorry, I honestly didn't see Masked Dedede's reply about those issues.
Don't know why I simply didn't see them when I replied to Zierrion.
Honest mistake on my side.
And don't worry Zierrion, I think most of these are easy fixes.

Now let me ask some things:

Here are some oddities that I've found:

Every instance of a white flash now has a grey color.
This is the only one that has me worried.
Do you have a save  or a save state before that particular effect happens on-screen?
It would greatly help to debug it and see exactly what palette it is trying to load.

If you do have a save, or a save state, or even better, both, please upload it to tackle this issue asap.
If you have a No$GBA save state for it, it would make my life easier for fixing it :P
But if you don't have a save state for No$GBA, a normal DS save can help, since I think I can load that one through No$GBA and get to that point too.

Whatever option/save you have handy would greatly help here.

Graphical glitches in the status screen.

Jonathan's image in the menu looks blurry.

These are simply overlooked mistakes on my side.
The graphical glitches in the first image is because I stupidly forgot to add the alpha layer to the background colour, so those added colours you see there are because the image I used for the menu assets doesn't have an alpha background added to them. I can fix that by simply editing the image again and adding the proper alpha color.

The Jonathan one I might have to redo, since I did some image editing to it, to make it look good color-wise in-game.
But should be easy.

So all the issues are rather easy to fix, the only one I'm worried about is the flashing, I need a save state for that particular scene. I suppose the issue is caused due to the palette changes I did to the Locket. But let's see.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

EDIT:
Nevermind, I found the point where Dedede mentioned there was grey instead of white.
It's the warp points effect when transitioning, the specific one in Dedede's pic was the one at the Tower of Death.

So I went ahead and tested both a clean rom of PoR and the hack with the latest fixes, this is what I got (tested with Desmume and melonDS):

Portrait of Elegance:                                     Portrait of Ruin:

I get no visual difference in the game.
Maybe it's a setting on your side or something? Since I tested with two different emulators and got the same result for both ROMs.

Also, just fixed the Status menu:

Had to simply add back the alpha channel to the images, that was all :)
The pink Jonathan one was slightly blurred, yes, but this is from the resizing, as I downloaded the original pink image posted a few pages back, and it was like that as well.
I will keep it as is for the time being, as with the DS' resolution, it's not as distracting.

Will update the patches in a few hours!

Good to hear it was an easy fix!
I didn't notice any obvious abnormality with the flashing/warping either actually... (although it flashes by so quick I wasn't sure whether I could just be missing it  :P) I'm playing on actual hardware not emulation btw

Dw it's not just you, I didn't see it at first either. I think it's cos new forum members need to have their posts verified by a moderator before they actually show up (I went through the same thing a page or two ago  :P)

The grey flash was a mistake on my part, I just had to enable 16-bit rendering on DraStic to get it fixed. :P

Just played through to the end.
Actually, I'm afraid I've just found a few other issues..

Firstly, in the end sequence scene, there is for one dialog box  where Stella's portrait appears as her vampiric form. All other dialog portraits for the rest of the sequence are appropriate.

EDIT: I just checked youtube, and the image should correspond to this portrait:

The 2nd is some missing portraits in the credits sequence. Specifically, the 2 portraits after Brauner (which I believe are Death and Dracula?)

EDIT: Nvm, just checked a youtube video, these are ?supposed to be like this?

Oh you're right.
When I started imported the portraits, I forgot about that specific one.
Given how they are arranged in the game's data, I thought that specific portrait was part of the transition from her vampire form to her human one, I didn't even think about the ending and that they used those portraits for that section.

Just sent an update with the fixed portrait for Stella :)
Check it out and let me know if there's anything else out of place!

The vampiric portrait issue happens with Loretta too.
