Star Ocean Blue Sphere sentence help
« on: June 23, 2015, 09:49:06 pm »
Hello, I am needing help translating this line(s).
The line in question is said right at the beginning of the game when the ship crashes. Chisato and Celine are glad to be alive and then Precis says this.

そうそう!
これが あたしの船じゃ
なかったら
もっとたいへんなことに
なってたんだよ

Any help would be appreciated!

Of course, my ship is awesome after all. It could have been much worse if it wasn't for her.
I am the lord, you all know my name, now. I got it all: cash, money, and fame.

How do you get this sentence? "Of course, my ship is awesome after all."

I only can see it similar to this (literal): "Right! If this hadn't been my ship it would have been much worse."

I'm guessing that そうそう! has another implication that I don't know. I always see it everywhere, but I thought that it was just そう repeated twice.
There has to be a better life.

Localization vs. straight up translation. そうそう doesn't carry any super special meaning, other than usually being uttered in excitement and/or emphasizing a point that you agree with. "That's right!"

So, no, you didn't miss out on anything!
