I'm all ears (or eyes, rather).
Don't forget Lamia has her own speech impediment, of course, which is made of (author-intentional) mistakes. (The style of the mistakes could be up for discussions if someone feels the need. We're not going back to Atlus's stuttering, though. ;D) But I guess you got all of that.

November 05, 2015, 05:18:47 pm - (Auto Merged - Double Posts are not allowed before 7 days.)
Update to the demo patch posted (probably the last one):
- Fixed "yo" typo
- Fixed batch inside patch still using old xdelta3 extension
- Edits, some more, and yet another few!

Same link as ever!
Enjoy!

Was not expecting even a sample of this for another 6 - 7 months! Thank you for this, going to enjoy the hell out of it!
Good luck moving towards a complete translation! Will wait as long as it takes.

I'm keeping those in mind for when I go through again; my first runs are just for fun at this point, playing with each suit. For now, the few things I noticed while not looking for them were just a few passive/aggressive word mix-ups, and a couple of past/present-tense mix-ups, with one word being present, the other going past. Small things that are easy to miss/overlook. They only jump out at me after having it all drilled into my head during Business English classes and so on.

If needed, I also don't mind volunteering some of my time to help with Editing of things if needed; translation, not so much. I'm very weak in that department.

Found typos in the biographies:
Under Kazuya's, iirc it was 365 days, not 36 days
Under Michiru's, daughter was misspelled 'daugher'

In the VA credits:
Nobuo Tobita(?) was printed on both as character & VA  :o

Looks like there might be a problem in the source material then, cause it really talks about "36" days. Would you have any reference to the year thing? We were hard-pressed finding much about it.
We are of in full agreement, deary sir, with the others verily good remarks. ;D

I'm currently in the 4th scenario of the Lamia/Real Robot route and I'm liking the translations so far (this also marks the first time that I was able to use Daimos, one of my childhood favorites, in SRW and with English lines at that so that's a plus). However, I also found what I think to be awkward/grammatically incorrect character quotes. I'm not sure if they're intentional or are references to something but I'll point them out anyway.

    • Noin: Don't you dare fighting dirty!
I think that should be 'fight', not 'fighting'.

    • Shiro: HERE'S IT BACK, WITH INTEREST!
A simple "IT'S PAYBACK TIME!" would have worked.
Or "NOW IT'S YOUR TURN!" I haven't seen the full 08th MS Team OVA yet but I saw a clip of the English dub and that's the line Shiro used when he was sliding down the building.
Thanks for the hard work on this translation. This is among those with the best series lineups in SRW so I'm glad you chose to translate this.

Oh yes, it should. Thanks for pointing this out!

So there were options available to us. The dub goes like you wrote, and the subs go like one can read in game right now. We wanted to have a link to something people can relate to (because, indeed, as you pointed out, we want people to remember what they saw). Both options are equally good to that regards. The subs have more "flavor" and "color" than the dub for this, not to mention this is an all-out attack from Shiro we're trying to talk about. So we went for that. We'd like to keep it that way, even if we understand the perspective to use the other sentence.

I can 100% confirm that none of the cwcheats for this game works after applying the demo patch.  :'( Can you guys either fix this or hack new cheats? Sorry if this is old news, but I just wanted to let you know.

Hello GamerX51!

Yes, we now some of them don't. (Some of us love cheats to play.) I was told the main one that doesn't work is the one that allows to switch pilots around units without limits. I didn't know there were others, so you may want to list the ones that don't work?
I tried to look the cwcheats format up, buteven the official page doesn't really make sense to me. (I don't like cheats, but I would have helped if I could.) If someone could shed some light on this, I'd gladly consider investing a few hours to help.
In the meantime... just play "roots"? Get the original experience the way it was meant to be played, y'know?  8)

I've already beaten the game once "legit", so I  figure I've won the right to cheat on my second play through. :D Anyway, the main ones I tried were the max money cheat, the max PP cheat, and the max parts codes, (both pilot and mech) and the infinite SP code. I tried all of the codes in the list, just to test them, and the SP code was the only one in the entire list of cheats that worked (for me, at least).

Ouch, ok. I thought infinite money was OK, but that sounds like it's not the case...
Anyway, help requested with cwcheats syntax. Anyone? :)
For instance, this is already good documentation: http://raing3.gshi.org/psp-utilities/page/PSP/CodeTypes
But when it comes to understanding the codes, say the one for pilots switching, I'm a bit lost.

Is this the full list of cheats, by the way?

The page I linked doesn't even describe type 0x80 cheats. Would anyone share any other source of info they may have? That would be much appreciated.

(Replying to myself since I found stuff.  8))
This page is in Japanese but has some descriptions that make sense to me, for the 0x80 code type for instance: http://ijiro.daiwa-hotcom.com/data/CWC.html
Right now on my test it looks like the following "main" addresses have changed:
- units table went from 0x08ED067C to 0x08EE0D6C  (+106F0)
- pilots table went from 0x08EDFF5C to 0x08EF064C  (+106F0)
So I think it's safe to impact addresses of cheats in the area of memory by +106f0.
I've tested it positively with the cheat to switch any 2 pilots:
Code: [Select]
_C0 switch any two pilots
_L 0x806E0D9E 0x012F0034
_L 0x10000001 0x00000000
_L 0x806F066A 0x00E60032
_L 0x10000001 0x00000000

Does that solve your questions, GamerX51?  ;)

No dice, I'm afraid.  :( I added your new offset to the address of the money cheat, and it didn't work, BlackDog.

Hi there fellow friends and SRW Compatriots. Super glad that this is a thing, as I've been meaning to play A for a while. I've played SRWs in Japanese before, and I love them even so, but one can't complain about some nice translations.

Keep up the good work guys, you have my support.

Well, some will work and then some may not. Please report on which ones you try and which ones work / don't work. (And also which patch you are using - though I guess this is the latest published, but let me know for ure from the readme - don't trust the file name.) You've started that I guess.
Edit --
Also please include the exact code you're referring to. I don't have an "infinite money"patch with me, but I do have a "max money" going:
Code: [Select]
_C0 Max Money Japanese
_L 0x2088A0E0 0x0098967F
Is that the same thing? (I'll assume it is because 0x2 is a continuous write.)
Edit #2: Looks like your money changed pockets - err, addresses. 0908A0E0 -> 090A2AA0.
Code: [Select]
_C0 Max Money English_L 0x20871720 0x0098967F
All set?

Side-note: I found an explaination of the 0x20 type here: http://www21.atwiki.jp/cwcwiki/pages/90.html
I wish all codes were in the same place. :)

Sorry about the confusion there, blackdog. Yes, I meant to say "Max Money".  :-[ Unfortunately, the new code you posted doesn't work either. I appreciate you taking time out to try to help me with this, but I've already taken enough of you're time, so just never mind the codes for now and focus on the actual translation.

Once it's done, we can revisit the code issue.

As I wrote: don't trust the file name for this, open the readme file and tell me the highest "v0xx"in the revision history. If you have "v034" mentioned as a previous version, then you're using v035 and that's indeed the latest.

EDIT: anyway, it looks like v035 has units and pilots in the same place, but its money is in a different place. Could you try this?

So first I want to say a thousand thanks to the team, thank you guys!
SRW are there but not so much and it's always a pleasure to see translation project emerge, especially for good psp opus with Grendizer inside :)

Anyway, I'm officially a beta tester now, so here's a few feedback:
- First I applied the patch to my ISO using the 64bits .bat on windows 8.1. I ended up with a shrinked english ISO (from 1.6Gb for the original to 1.3 Gb)
not sure why and if that's normal?

- Now I started playing on my PSP slim (2000) and made it to stage 3 intermission. Now anytime I try to go to next stage, I'm stuck at loading screen (black one with loading on bottom right) and after a few secs the psp shuts down.

I'm running Prometheus 6.6 pro

will be doing more tests with original iso to see if I can get past this point, or re-start from begining, or re-patch etc.

thanks!
