I know this has been a long time coming, and all I can offer are my most sincerest apologies. I broke my word that I'd release what I had done on the project, and cut off contact with everyone I had worked with. I am really sorry, and I hope to make up for all of that.

I could give out a list of excuses of why I did this or that, but it wouldn't matter. I do want to finish this project though, since it's been on the forefront of my mind the last 5 years.

As a show of good faith, I will make available what I have done so far. This is not where I'm stopping though; I fully intend to finish this project to the best of my ability. Ironically, I'm currently umemployed again, which gives me all the time in the world to work on this, the same conditions as when I started this translation.

Obviously, there will be stuff that's outright broken and I'm going through it as I get to it. I was hoping to finish the demon negotiation and demon fusion and start playing through the game, perhaps streaming it. If one were lucky enough to avoid any showstopper bugs, the first game might actually be beatable.

Once again, I am sorry for disappearing, and I will finish the project this time.

I'm still waiting for translators

I requested the old thread in Personal Projects to be reopened, but in the mean time, I've fixed the bugs from the uploaded patch. Items, demon fusion, healing and demon negotiation are fixed now. I've uploaded a video of the first 20 minutes of the game here.

The glitch that appeared when I leveled up was actually already fixed. I was using Higan to play, and didn't realize it stored a copy of the rom in its own folder when you import it into its library.

The biggest things left to do is insert the Megami Tensei 2 script into the game, do the Game Over screen, and fix some spacing/cursor issues with the load game screen. After that, I think it might finally be done. I wouldn't mind a second opinion on some of the translations, and of course the game will need to be rigorously tested.

Nice.. this has always been at the top of my list of stuff I wish I could play mainly because of the MTII remake! I'm so happy to read this message

that I will try to keep up to date. I also made another video of the beginning of Megami Tensei 2, and the bug that popped up in it concerning the Healer has already been fixed, and the first patch in the new thread should contain it.

If anyone reading this has the time and interest to help with testing, please download the patch and let me know what you find. Or feel free to simply try it out for fun. I'll continue to play through myself and fix whatever I see, but it would greatly speed things up and help improve the project's quality.
