Spot re-translation for a special ending HELP NEEDED
« on: July 23, 2014, 03:14:56 pm »
Hey guys,

need some help with a few lines for this special ending that I'm editing for insertion.

LAST TWO lines

FIRST THREE lines

Original
ここまで辿りついたオマエは、
多くのパターンによって
変化し続ける全ての世界で
あの男を完璧に抹殺することが
出来たはずだ。

First pass, translated by pmt7ar with some editing help from me, back in 2010.
"When you make it to this point
no matter what happens next
you ought to completely erase that man"

I'm now trying to get a complete, line-for-line, (un-butchered) translation of this ending for our release and I can't afford to have a single line in this very important ending un- or mistranslated.

オマエは出来たはずだ。
You are supposed/expected to have done it.

ここまで辿りついたオマエあの男を完璧に抹殺すること出来たはずだ。
You, that came this far/reaching this point, should have (been able to) completely erase that man.

ここまで辿りついたオマエ多くのパターンによって変化し続ける全ての世界であの男を完璧に抹殺すること出来たはずだ。
You, that came this far, should have (been able to) completely erase that man in any (all) -constantly-changing by numerous patterns/possibilities- worlds.

So the idea is: in any possible world it may result, you were expected to erase him anyway.

I knew I could count on you man, thanks a lot! Here's my first full revision.

Final two lines not included in the TIMs (audio-only):

"You know, there's no such thing as a pre-determined storyline.

Let the game begin..."
