Recently won this in an auction.

It has a copyright, and an authenticity stick from Gainax on the top bar.

I can't find any info from the search engines that I can use with English.

Can anyone determine for me the time period, and maybe even a price range for this item?

Thanks in advance for any help with this.


Also, does anyone know of a compendium of legitimate wall scrolls? Is there a sure fire way to spot a fake? Will the copy right always be printed along the bottom?

I had no clue there was even a market for fake wall scrolls.

I've heard of bootleg anime goods (back in my day it was Son May CDs), but I'm surprised that there's such a thing as unlicensed or "fake" wall scrolls. This website may have some helpful info.

I'd say 99% of wall scrolls are bootleg, If it doesn't have a copyright printed along the bottom it's a bootleg.


Even then, most legit wall scrolls you get are going to be from International Prints, or Great Eastern, which are pretty worthless. When it comes to anime wall scrolls, it really must come from the anime production company before it has value.

I'm pretty sure nearly 100% of the market for dakimakura is bootleg.
