Now if you wanted to learn the ropes and attempt the hack and you are asking for help then people might be a wee bit more receptive.
Ha. People still say that stuff? It might surprise you to learn that the world doesn't work by everyone trying to do everything from scratch themselves. Productivity would be extremely low. People work in their chosen specialist skill set, and everyone benefits. It's only ever programmers who think that everyone should adopt their skill set in addition to their own. Yet they have no intention to build their own furniture, car or anything else outside their personal skill set. It's narrow minded. Not all programmers of course, just many. I think mostly young ones who haven't worked the world out yet. It would be foolish for me to attempt this one-off hack myself when I could pay someone up to the value of my time to do it for me, wouldn't it?
And what he needs is a cheat code, not a rom hack, so I don't know why is he even posting this here.
Didn't anyone ever tell you it's rude to refer to someone indirectly in the third person?
I said a cheat code or a patch. How could I have been more accurate? I don't know which one is easier to make in this case, but I'm certain that neither exist.
Unfortunately that just seems to tell you how to get the tap to appear. It doesn't solve the bug which prevents you from picking it up.
I have a feeling I won't be back to this forum.
