My apologies for bumping this thread, but I immediately created an account just to thank you guys for the hard work you've been doing. I only just today learned about the existence of a second GBC Survival Kids game, and being an avid SK1 player when the GBC was still a thing, you can imagine my excitement. I'm so, so excited for your translation to be finished. I was shocked to find a recent and ongoing project to be honest but I'm giddy nonetheless!

I've never dealt with ROMs before, however, so please forgive my ignorance in these next questions; is it possible to program a ROM like this into a Gameboy cartridge so I can play it on my handheld system? Do I need certain hardware or software to do so? Can I hire someone to do it for me?

Thanks again. Keep up the great work! Looking forward to any future updates as they come ;D

Hey undErtakEr! Don't worry, we were all new to romhacking once.
To answer your question, you can buy something called a 'Flashcart'. It'll have software where you can download the rom file to the cart, then play it on your Gameboy. It's pretty simple; you shouldn't have a problem with it.

I think the most popular one for Gameboy is called 'Everdrive GB', if that helps any.

And thanks for the interest! We've hit a bit of lull because I've have real life stuff I've had to focus on, but I hope to get back to adding in HattonTown's translations really soon.

This is the last time I am going to say it:

The project is not dead and never will be. The patch will be released when it is released.

By Christmas.

Both USC and I have been incredibly busy.

Yeah, I've been slacking a bit  - sorry 'bout that!
Anyway, I finally finished adding all the hints you get from both waking up each day and paying the bird in items. A sample of his wisdom is below:

Incidentally, it was the bird that changed this from a translation to a localization - with such gems as "Be careful if you're styling your butt hair with tonic; it could burn you!", we felt that some things needed to be changed...

Made an account just to show support for the upcoming translation for Survival Kids 2. I'm hoping, almost expecting it to be compatible with PC emulators, because I'll be using VisualBoy to play it. Good work on what you have so far, you two. Keep it up!

@ChronoMoogle: That's the hope. I've given HattonTown the last of the dialog to translate, and in the meantime I finally have to buckle down and figure out the compression for four graphics in the game. It's doable, real life permitting. :)

@Ambition: Thanks for the interest in the translation! Yes, this game should work on VBA - it's what I've been testing it on up to this point! :)
There will actually be two patches: one for purists that just translates the dialogue, and a second that makes it possible to get all six endings without using a link-cable (which VBA can't do for GBC games).

(Just discovered that eating a certain expired food makes your character throw up. Thought I'd share that with everyone)

Created a login just for this.

Thank you USC and Hattontown both for taking on this project. About a year ago I didn't even know there was a sequel to Survival Kids (not counting "Lost in Blue"), let alone an English translation project. Your hard work is greatly appreciated!

We haven't forgotten. Stay patient.

And if you're bored and really want to make my day, you could direct some of your traffic toward my blogs. It should give you some context to everything surrounding this entire translation project.

I thought it would be a wonderful christmas gift to all of us, nonetheless i understand that it is not that easy. I wish you all the best in new year and good luck in achieving all your goals (not only the translation). It is nice to see that you had a lot of support since the beggining :) i hope that it is a good motivation. Take care!

Hey everyone- super sorry we didn't make the Christmas release like we hoped.

But to be honest- I never really wanted to give a release date anyway. I was just tired of people asking "Is it dead is it dead" and thought we'd be able to have it done by Christmas. But you know how it is- Christmas plans and holiday chaos and whatnot.

We're still working and hope to have this released ASAP.
