This is heroic. You are heroes, and monsters. I did an April Fool's translation and I thought that was plenty, but to do something like this must have taken inhuman stamina.

I think it was the fact that they torured themselves two years on this translation. I haven't played the game but from the comments and the readme this game could be on par with Aiden Chronicles.

Think people saw the part about two years of there not really being any news on a certain other project and tried to add two and two together ... or maybe that's the April Fool's

According to Wikipedia, this was originally meant to be part of the main Tales series but this was changed afterwards. Could the quality of the game have had anything to do with that?

I can agree with that. I thought the same thing after reading the Readme, and had to go back and read it again after the comments about where did two years come from. The "for the better part of the last two years" phrase doesn't directly say those two years were involved in making the translation, but it was the easiest conclusion to come to. I remember wanting to play this when it first came out, but I don't think I ever will. I never really had time to try Innocence.

Thanks for the free advertising. I actually used the TOI patch to test XDelta patching/creation in MultiPatch, because it was the only example of a large patch that I was aware of at the time and also the reason I had to make the application 64-bit native.

I just got the patch. Xdelta GUI doesn't consider it a valid patch file. Anyone know how to patch this?

I'm actually one of the 2 people who want to play...

I spent less than a year on a game that I like and barely want to do even that. How can you spend >2 years on a piece of garbage?

Sora, just change the file type to all files so the file shows up. Then you can proceed like normal.

I bugged KC about this a while back, but he forgot to fix it. Bad KC, bad.

He's using the command line Xdelta which outputs patches as .DAT/.dat rather than .xdelta which is what KaioShin's program looks for.

Congratulations on this! I remember reading all about the game quite some time back, but I never realized people found it to be so bad. The main complaint I read back then was the game was too short...

I will have to play it one day, but my next Tales' game will probably be Graces f or Symphonia.

The length is not the issue. If you do everything it's like 20 hours long(I got in about 22), not bad for a portable RPG, or most kinds of game really.

No, the issue is the rest of it. I hated this game so much I asked if I could write a full article about how much I hate this game. I was told to keep the word count down.

I hated this game so much I wanted my Mark of Hate on it. I wanted the game to be known as an utterly terrible piece of shit, and I wanted everyone to know how much I hate this game.

Same. I get a "Bad magic number: not a valid delta" error.
