So I'm working alongside Myria to finally get Breath of Fire 1 retranslated. She's done an amazing job on the menus. :3

I'm looking for a little advice regarding the scenario with the crazy wizard. In the original, the "Xeon Gas" is referred to as ドロミのガス ("Doromi Gas"), or in more detail, ドロミのくさをいぶしたけむり ("smoke given off by the Doromi Plant"). I'm trying to figure out what ドロミ could mean before I settle on replacing it with some suitable name - "Wingbane" or "Featherbane" sounds appropriate, given it's described as a deadly poison to Wyndians, but I want to make sure there's a meaning or pun or reference I can translate before I start replacing things wholesale.

Well, I mean there's the obvious 泥 + 身 connection there. So the effect is somewhat like that of getting pollution on the wing of a winged animal.

ミ could also come from 味 (I know, it's the on-yomi while doro is kun, just putting it out there).

Some rather strained connections, here mostly for the sake of completeness:

• "Doromi" reminded me of "dormir" (French verb, "to sleep"), which is one of several descendents from the Latin verb "dormio" (Wiktionary link).
• Dolomiaea is a genus of flowering plants in the daisy family. The only thing I could find related to smoke/gas from it was a mention of the roots of dolomiaea macrocephala being burned as incense. (There doesn't seem to be much information about this genus anywhere.)
