Please bear  in mind that I speak no French. I just took a stab at translating this scenario for Forlorn Hope by Victory point games.

I am curious how close I got and if anything is wrong.

I used google translate and a couple other translating programs then pieced together the broken English and things with my knowledge of the game, the English language, and a little common sense.

Original French text:

OPERATION SOLO BONUS 1

My Translation:

SOLO OPERATION 1
The nursery

"I think we've located a Xenos Queen, We must eliminate this threat at any cost to prevent the Xenos from completely infesting the entire upper right wing of the ship.”

Map: A (Engine Room)
Number of Turns: 10
Equipment: none (Rule # 1)
Xeno eggs: 4
Marine Forces: 2 SGT, Flamethrower, Gunner and 2 Privates (rule # 1)
Xenos forces: 3d Drones, Warriors 1d
Xenos Spawn Rate:
- Even turns: Drones 3d, 1d Warriors
- Odd turns: Drones 3d, 1d Blasters
Marine Goal:  Kill the Queen (rule # 2) and exit the ship at the airlock in area B (2 AP to open).
Secondary objective: score the most points possible (Rule # 4).

Special Rules:
1.   Place four pieces of equipment randomly face down one per area in zones 1, 2, 3 and 4 (the Colored triangles). These may be collected during the game.

2.   During set up, place the Queen on Access vent 3 (Use a Blaster chit to represent the Queen). The Queen never moves. It has 3 Health points and can shoot twice per turn as a Xeno Blaster. During the Spawning phase, the Queen spawns two hatchlings at Access vent 3.

3.   If an access vent is blocked that corresponds to the die roll during the Xeno Spawn phase, this Xeno is considered lost. The Xeno is not placed elsewhere and the die is not re-rolled..

4.   Points at the end of the game can be counted as follows:
-4 points for each Sergeant and Private out alive.
-8 points for Gunner and Flamethrower out alive.
-1 point for each Warrior and Blaster killed (Queen included).
Eggs, Hatchlings, and Drones yield nothing.

5.   Marines start with 2 plasma grenades.

Rookie: add Lieutenant and he is a hero (2 life). Lieutenant does not earn points when it leaves the ship in this scenario.
Veteran: the Queen has 6 points and gives birth to 3 Hatchlings per turn.

Scenario designer Maxime Cargol (aka fatmax66)

Thanks.

Looks all right to me, it's weird how "Pondeuse" was translated into "Queen", but I am not too sure about what it means in french too.

Thanks. Pondeuse was translated as "laying" and "hen" after I ran it through the translator programs. I changed it to Queen as in mother alien since I figured that had to be what it meant.

There was also mention of "Maintenance Robot" During the translation but I have no clue what that meant since there isn't any robot in the game.

Sorry but there is some stuff I missed eariler :

First, the marine's goal is to exit the board/map, not the ship. Although in the context it could have the same meaning if the board represents a ship, but just to be sure.
I think you left something arround rule #1.
It says marine units can collect equipement, while you just say they can be collected.

Also the way it's put in french implies there is only four pieces of equiements, while in enlish you say "four pieces of equipment" as if there was more pieces of equipement and you had to choose four of them randomly.

There is something important you got wrong at rule #3.
It is not the Xeno which is lost, but the dice roll.

It seem weird you translated "Soldat" by "Private", it should be translated into "Soldier" (or whatever else represent a low military grade).
You translated "Tireur" by "Blaster" but pehaps it should be "Sniper" instead ? I'm not too sure, depends on the context.

Rule #5 says in french more something like "Marines process 2 plasma grenades" there is no notion of "starting with" grenades, although in the context it's probably what it meant anyways.

Finally, it's weird you translated "Plateau B" into "Map A", shouldn't it be "Map B" ?

Other than that it looks okay. Sorry I missed all this stuff earlier, I read it too quickly.

The "Maintenance Robot" is really the same in both language, no false friend here. I don't see how this can refer to something else than a robot.

Thanks for the feedback.

Yeah, the board/map of the game represents a ship. That's why I used "Ship" instead of "Map"

I'm not quite sure what you mean about the equipment.

I used private instead of soldier because in the game, the units are referred to as Privates and not soldiers. There is no Unit called "soldier" in the game so I figured it must have meant the Private.  The same thing with the Xeno Shooter/sniper that I renamed to Blaster since that is what they are called in the game.

Rule 3 was pretty hard for me to figure out. I'm still not too sure I got it right obviously. I'm not sure how it relates to the actual game by saying that the die roll is lost instead of the xeno.

The marine player starts off with 2 plasma grenades. By the way the English scenario's are, it usually indicates that they start with them.

Map B was changed to Map A because by my knowledge of the game maps, this one couldn't take place on map B. So I'm pretty sure it was a typo on the original authors part.

The Maintenance robot part I can't figure out because there is no maintenance robot in the game at all and I didn't see it mentioned anywhere else in the scenario so I didn't think it was a new element added by the scenario. I thought maybe it meant the ending phase of the turn where the enemies are spawned.

Here is a link to the rules to the base game if it helps. http://victorypointgames.com/documents/Forlorn%20Rules%20(sheet)%20v1-0.pdf

Thanks for the help.

I'll try to re-translate rule #3 from scratch if it helps you :

If you are blocking any vent access thanks to the maintenance robot, any dice roll during reproduction that would make a Xeno appear on the access is considered to be dummied out. The Xeno is not moved anywhere else, nor is the dice rolled again.

Thanks for the clarification. I just gotta figure out what the author meant by maintenanct robot. Must be referring to a player piece. Just a different one.

I'm having trouble deciphering the meaning of this one here:

What is "Miss"?

I can get a general idea of this one:

MISSION 1
INVASION XENOS

I translated it to this:

The Leander V is a military transporter for the Empire. It was commissioned to bring Krimson 31 plans for  the new fortress designed to protect the borders of the Krimsons independence. While the journey passed without major incident, the crew began to notice that the ventilation system was beginning to make disturbing noises. Suddenly, a Ceiling panel collapses and giant arachnid-like legs emerge from the vent and grab a nearby Commander. Pulling the unfortunate soul into the ventilation duct and never to be seen again.

Is it a transporter ship carrying blueprints/plans for a fortress? Is Krimson 31 the name of the transporter or the fortress? Can't figure out the last sentence.

Most of this is giving me trouble. Especially the mission objective.

5. Les Marines n’ont pas de grenades.

Thanks again.

MISSION 1 <- MISSION 1
INVASION XENOS <-XENOS'INVASION

Léandre (don't knwo if you wana keep the é) V is a Empire's military transporter.
It was commissioned to bring Krimson 31 plans for  the new fortress who has seems to be designed to protect the borders of the Krimsons independence colony.
While the journey passed without major incident, the crew began to notice that the ventilation system was beginning to make disturbing noises. Suddenly, a Ceiling panel collapses and giant arachnid-like legs emerge (from the vent) and grab the Commander. Pulling the unfortunate soul into the ventilation duct(and never to be seen again).

Is it a transporter ship carrying blueprints/plans for a fortress? Is Krimson 31 the name of the transporter or the fortress? Can't figure out the last sentence.

Krimson 31 is the name of one colony. the fortress didn't have name (for now), and the Empire's transporter must bring plans to the Krimson colony.

Sorry but i don't remember what is the Miss. (mission?)

4. Think to take some notes to know who have survived and the list of items which aren't used. They'll serve for the next Mission.

Marine's objectives : A maximum of marines must survive
and will leave by SAS under the tray.
the survivors will be able to access mission 3 later.

Règles Spéciales :

Specials rules :

1. If you manage to get away with these tokens(?) you'll
retain these for the third mission.
In second mission, the unused tokens(?) will be available.
Marines can grab them when they'll walk on these.

2. Put a soldier and gunner, each in front of a SAS
red at the bottom of the game board. Put a soldier
in front of a yellow SAS. Put the Lieutenant and a soldier on
A.

3. To open a red SAS, use 2 PA, it'll be opened until the end.

4.Think to take some notes to know who have survived and the items list which aren't used. They'll serve for the next mission.

5. Les Marines n’ont pas de grenades.
5.The Marines don't have any grenades.

you've simply missed some letters ;)

I don't know if this is it in this context but "Miss" can be vulgar/familiar language to say "girl", simply from the english word "Ms".

What does "under the tray" mean?

Does it mean at the bottom of the map? I believe SAS means door/airlock.

Looks like the sentence was broken. I suppose it should have been 'Ils serviront pour la Mission ... (and some missing text qualifying the mission)."

That's it, a door/airlock.
