These credits are kinda funny. They're phrased almost like Seinfeld episodes, or whichever sitcom used the formula "The One With..."

(Note: I generally do not watch sitcoms and know this only through osmosis. XD)

Quote
The people who made the game
Shoukai Corner!

The one who came up with the game
Kenji Iino

The one who pulled together the data
Hideki Miura

The one who made the demo and stuff
Hirofumi Hayashida

The one who came up with the enemies
Takaya Nakamura

The one who drew the animations
Shingo Aoyama

The one who drew the backgrounds
Yoshiaki Kadowaki

The one who decided how the enemies move
Yasuomi Kuwahara

The one who composed the music

The one who composed the music
Kenji Iino

The one who made the SFX
Takaya Nakamura

The one who took control
Yutaka Nakada

The one who kept things moving
Mikio Hatano

The one who supervised
Kenji Idou

The game is over now!

Thank you for playing!

See you next time!

...Well. しんこう is kind of ambiguous, but I went with 進行 for the time being. >_> Someone else can probably clarify now that I've done the heavy lifting here.

Also, considering that these are kinda lengthy and it'd probably violate the spirit to condense them down to simple descriptions ("Programmer," "Enemy Designer," "Music," etc.), maybe you should use "silly" descriptions ("Code Monkey," "Mook Tamer," "8-Bit Beatsmith")?

Thanks, I figured there was something special about these credits.

I do agree that these will need to be condensed somewhat. About 22 characters per line is the max length for these and I've come up with these for the first two that fits the style and character limit. Dunno about the rest though.

I knew that style was familiar.
Time Zone for the Famicom did the same thing, same developer. Though I've seen the creator's name romanized as "Eno".

I have the complete translation for this game.
I was thinking to hack/translate it with the help of Paul Jensen and Ryusui but after some time I didn't find a way or someone to hack the appearence of the text at the begining. From what I've understand DTE is needed to do this.
By the way Pennywyse I've send you an email if you want to help me to complete this translation. You didn't respond me :(
Here is my thread if you need something: http://www.romhacking.net/forum/index.php/topic,12805.msg186785.html#msg186785

Translation for the credits by Paul Jensen:
Quote
The credits in this game are supposed to be funny.
They'd probably sound something like this in English:

01 - Introducing the fine folks who made this game!
02 - Thinker Upper: Kenji Ino
03 - Data Mastermind: Hideki Miura
04 - Maker of Demos 'n' such: Hirofumi Hayashida
05 - Enemy Wrangler: Takaya Nakamura
06 - Tool Man: Shingo Aoyama
07 - Background Drawer: Yoshiaki Kadowaki
08 - Enemy Trainer: Yasuomi Kuwahara
09 - Music Man: Hirohiko Takayama
10 - Music Guy: Kenji Ino
11 - SFX Dude: Takaya Nakamura
12 - Manager At Large: Yutaka Nakada
13 - Progress Pusher: Mikio Hatano
14 - Directorator: Keiji Ito
15 - That's the end, folks!
16 - Thanks for playing all the way through!
17 - See you again sometime! Ichido staff

I meant to respond to you, but I never got around to it. I'll get those credits back in the game then the only thing left will be the various graphics.

Did you find a way to print the translation like the japanese version?
I've played a lot with the translation but the same result: it was printed like the translation maded by Spoony Bard not the japanese version, line by line.

Intro and last stage translation by Paul Jensen:

Quote
Intro:
D'Ouevre: Ooo hyoh hyoh! I, the mighty D'Ouevre, have helped myself to your restaurant! Buh-bye!

Last stage:
D'Ouevre: Congratulations on making it this far, you lucky cookie! But your luck ends here! Buh-bye!
D'Ouevre: Hyah hoh! You won't be able to keep up with magnificent me! Au revoir, sucker!

NOTES:

(1) The phrases バイビー and ハイチャラバーイ are apparently catch phrases from old TV shows, and they're both "funny" ways of saying goodbye. You can use whatever you want for these.

(2) D'Ouevre sticks さま on the end of his own name, attempting to give himself respect. Comic book and video game villians do this a lot.

Aside from a minor PPU scrolling issue, the credits are now done. That leaves the various graphics to do.

The question for me is whether or not I should reuse the graphics from the official release. I definitely don't like the setup of the menu and will be "restoring balance" to the screen in general.

This last one was replaced by an X.

I think having the egg and fish and whatnot in the banners gives it charm, if that's what you're referring to.

You can always use the stage bonus graphics hacks maded by Spoony Bard.
Here is some screenshots:

P.S.: as you can see they are better than the US version ;D

For me those minigame names sound literal/dry to me. Anyone have an opinion on calling them "Goin' Fishing!" and "Fry Those Eggs!"?

Why leaving "shoukai" in japanese ?

Maybe he missed the の at the end, which would make it look like the developers are called "Shoukai Corner". But you're right, it should be translated.

Yeah, I used Paul Jensen's version of the credits aside from some minor alteration on my part. If anyone wants to weigh in on any of them, I'm open to suggestions.

Btw, the title screen is now fully hacked. All that's left is the mini-game banners and the menu.
