I just wanted to give a heads-up that The Last Promise, a Fire Emblem hack that's been under progress for over four years, finally has a complete patch out.

It's the first full-length vanilla hack--as in, it changes text, graphics, level design, music, the engine, and even other things--with thousands of hours put into it! In many ways, it's like a completely new game, and Fire Emblem fans in the west haven't had one of those in a while, so feel free to give it a try!

They're certainly not made known outside the FE community though, which is a shame. Especially considering how relatively large the FE hacking community is.

Where could one find these full hacks? Is there a "safe"  site to get the patches?

Many of them are in Japanese still, but the Fire Emblem series are incredibly simple and traditional: after you've played one, you can almost play any of them.

I can drop a list of names off the top of my head, if you'd like. But no Fire Emblem fan seemed interested in cataloging all the hacks, so I never bothered--let those with no interest have none! That being said, here's a post I made, and a thread, which will introduce a few things to ya.

Thank you for the info Celice, I have been looking on google and found some dead links and ran into a Virus site once.

It takes a little intelligent searching to make sure you don't find dead links or other problems, like anything on the internet, especially if they're on foreign sites you don't fully comprehend; I've had no problems finding any of these hacks I listed, except for the ones that, like many romhacks, have simply disappeared with time. If you're looking for one specifically, I can see if I remember any specifics to help you out.
