Translation Requests
« on: July 03, 2006, 02:02:41 am »
Hey folks! This is a place for people to make suggestions of games they think would make good translation projects. The idea is that the romhackers regularly visiting this site can check this topic and get an idea of the kinds of games that other visitors to the site are interested in and may be introduced to some potential translation projects they may otherwise have not known about.

In addition to simply suggesting a game, please consider writing a description of why it is cool, the type of game play, the story, how it ties into an existing franchise, why that doesn't automatically make it suck, etc... A screenshot probably wouldn't hurt. Basically the more info you can give the better. If reading it really makes you want to play that game, someone may very well choose to translate it.

This is not the help wanted ads section. Assistance with current projects should be directed there, not here. There is no expressed or implied guarantee that a game you suggest will be picked up as a project. It's just a place for you to talk-up your most wanted projects. Have fun!

Note: The games brought up should generally be games for which there is no English language version available, though I don't see a problem with suggestions for retranslations, or alternative language translations. Let's please just keep it civil and not suggest retranslations of projects already fan translated. Nitpicking about others projects is not encouraged, let's all have some class folks.

I decided to place this in the gaming discussion area because it's the kind of topic that anyone can contribute to and I think casual and regular visitors will be more likely to post to it here.

So, this is our main "Translation requests" list now?
Should finished translations be deleted?

wouldn't it be better to list all finished translations in their own section? or list them with a single line strike through them?

this shows how much has been accomplished and also avoids people requesting the same game again and again.

Listing finished translation with a single line strike through them will clutter the page.
I think most people will check if the game was translated.

If we get it up to date, we can lock it and direct to the wiki list page for adding new additions.

Nightcrawler, the list is currently up to date.

Didn't see any reason to go through the rest of the pages. The list was mostly current past the 17th page.

This thread can probably be locked now, so people go edit the Wiki instead of posting more requests in here.

You heard the man.
Go to that link in the first post for your translation requests. :)
