No. The translation was made by Chief NET. There's a bunch more stuff over there not yet here. Its a fancy that the Cossacks did speak Russian.

Dealing with sprite text and hardware limitations is hard.



And that's looking to be the easy part.

If you're doing Panorama Cotton, please pick a better font. That one hurts the eyes.
I can only wish you luck, from what I saw about that game's sprite text.

That's disappointing.  I was trying to use a font that had some character, but I guess it didn't survive the transformation process.  Do you have any suggestions?

I don't personally think the font is that bad, but in general, I'd go for readability over "character".
(for example, Castlevania III is one font I think is used more than it should be)

This is not a translation - it is a demonstration of the text area expansion. I do not have the necessary knowledge to translate from Japanese (only some descriptions, but not the dialogues).

Trying some "prettify" experiment with FF4 SNES:

Proportional font is implemented with prerendered tiles, which works fast enough even with FF4's huge item list (384 tiles). Source code for item names (all I've done so far) can be found here: https://github.com/Gemini-Loboto3/prettify

Holy hell, even that is just a huge improvement over how it looked originally.
