Awesome hack, but awful music... Better improve the BGM, and the hack will be perfect.

Uh... In 2-3, Mario goes into a pipe and comes out from "the air"??

In this hack, when Fiery Mario is hit he becomes Super Mario. If Mario is pulled by the force of a whirlpool at the time, he will still be pulled down during the animation time. Is this by design, or is this a bug?

it is a bug, but i think this bug exists in the original game

this should be fixed in patch 0.992

Just cancel the animation time, like my patch in mariohackereng.ys168.com .
Better nothing than bugging.

Just going off the screens at this point but I really like the visuals.  Good colour.

It might just be me, but it seems that on the project page the download is linking back to the project page and not to the file.

It appears to be doing that on every ROM hack, Translation, Utility, and Document right now.

I really, really love this hack! Thanks so much for making it!

I was so happy when I discovered that you have infinite lives. That's modern thinking. :)  Very refreshing in contrast to all the ultra hard ROM hacks out there.

frantik, I can't pm you because your inbox is full.

I want to play this Super Mario Unlimited hack, but when patched the resulting rom doesn't seem to work. I'm using Super Mario Bros. (W) [!] so there must be a problem with the patch file that's uploaded to the site itself. I've even asked a friend to try and he got the same resulting broken rom file.

Do you have a working copy? If you can email it to me at satoshimatrix@hotmail.com that would be great. I have an older version that works, but I want to get the bugfixed latest release if at all possible.

Also, is this a mapper hack? What mapper and board type is this using? If I can get a working copy of the rom, I'd like to make a physical reproduction cart. Thanks.

Um... I think frantik is inactive for a year now? The patch here is OK by me. A JU PRG0 worked w/the patch.

Every hack, that's ever been released as an IPS file, will most surely be used wrong by a number of players (experience statement). I seriously don't know why the IPS patch format was ever accepted as a standard pathing format for the majority of the NES and SNES hacks.

There were (and still are) a lot of players, who patched the IPS patches I've released to a wrong original rom. Resulting in bugged games, telling me that I should update the bugs? (which don't exist if patched correctly).

And yes, the Header was a major problem in most cases, while some others were using the file of wrong region.

I'm seriously thinking to update all my released IPS patches to some other format, which prevents any false patching; such as xdelta, beat etc.

We should really change the standard of accepting the patches to this board to NON-ips, since this format allows uncontrolled patching.

A nice, simple fix would be a small, backwards-compatible extension to the IPS format that includes a hash for the correct ROM.

Use the Konami Code before the title screen scrolls all the way onto the screen to enable level selector and/or "hard mode".. after entering the code, press B for level select and hold A+start to start in hard mode.

Collecting the Mario coins enables hidden power up blocks in other levels, depending on how many you have collected.  There is almost always a hidden power up near the first pipe in castle levels.
