This is a nice gem of a program I came across while viewing Djinn's website. I politely asked him if he could do the English community a favor and translate it and the next day he sent it to me. It allows you to view the fixed width tiles in their natural tiles. So basically you can do everything you can do in a normal hex editor except you can change graphics of tiles and view scripts with those graphics. You can find it here.

I asked him if he would do Kruptor and the text editor as well. He's doing one at a time I guess.

Any idea what it is though? It looks like some sort of IDE for...something.

Kruptar is the script dumper/editor/inserter with pointer recalculation. This is just old version on my site. At the moment I'm working on new one.

Hey, Djinn. This thing is neat...

I just have one minor favor to ask, though. Could you up the maximum width to, say, 40 or so? I wish I had this tile mapper when I was working on the input screens and credits for Sylvanian Families 1...matter of fact, it could still come in handy. Problem is, each line of the tile map is 40 bytes long; 20 for tile data, 20 for palette data. I can still get the lines to line up properly by setting the width to 20, but I have the "gibberish" palette data interlaced with the actual graphics data.

One of the tools is named "ROM-Corrupting Expert System "toadstool"". That is a funky, but surprisingly descriptive name :D

"It's a tool for locating hard-to-find data in the rom -- this one is the best corrupter to date. It's main feature is the built-in analyser.  The program allows to locate the necessary data by methodically corrupting the ROM and receiving answers on how the data changed."

hmm... a tool to use when you can see it, but cannot touch it?

P.S. "toadstool" reads somthing like poganka, and "to corrupt, to pollute" reads like poganyt, thus the name. :)

I can't understand what you really need. Explain clearly, please. =)

Look at the accompanying screenshot. That's at width 20. Everything lines up, except every line of the tilemap is interlaced with a line of gibberish (the palette data). For it to display properly, I'd need to be able to display width 40, which I can't: the maximum is 32.

Like I said: great tool, just one minor problem I have to work around.

Another minor suggestion: could you add keyboard shortcut support to the viewers? You know, plus, minus and arrow key support...and I can't seem to get Go To to work at all. I don't absolutely need them; they're just a bit of handy polish...

Ok. I'll try to do what I can. I didn't update this program whole two years.
And what's wrong with Go To? It works absolutely normal except some bug with Cancel button.
