Utilities not working on Vista?
« on: September 03, 2011, 01:05:48 am »
I'm having some issues getting certain programs to run on Vista that seem essential to ROM hacking. Programs like TaBuLar, Cartographer, and Atlas, for example. They quickly show up on screen and instantly shut right off, preventing me from being able to use them. I'm using TableManager as a replacement table generator, and I have WindHex if I really need to dump any script from what I'm currently working on, but it still bothers me that these highly recommended programs aren't working properly for me.

Is anyone else getting this problem, or know of any solutions?

For Tabular, you might need the Visual Basic 6 runtime. As for Cartographer and Atlas, those are command line programs, meaning you need to use the command line for them.
