This game is infamous because it’s one of the worst games ever made. It’s full of all sorts of glitches and it’s extremely hard because of it’s glitched gameplay. The game couldn’t even be finished.

Now, you can play with all those bugs fixed so the game can be completed with no problems. No more enemies disappearing, all levels load correctly, and no annoying level number glitch (levels 4, 5 and 6 were called level 3).

But seriously I've never heard of the game.

Game unfinishable? Bosses disappearing? How could those showstoppers escape the notice of developpers? Seriously?

Really? There was a huge fad in remixing the game's music (possibly its sole redeeming feature) some months back.

I was under the impression the most famous one was Action 52... Which has Cheetahmen 1 in it.

I can't belive someone took the time and effort to bugfix this "game" which is basically a giant set of bugs and glitches.

And if you've heard of AVGN the angry video game nerd you should absolutely watch his episode about Action 52 and Cheetahmen II.

Considering this game was never officially released, that's understandable.

However, was Cheetahmen I completable? I never did get through that game.

This is because the music is incredible. I mean, the game is also incredible, but in the exact opposite way.

I now understand why I've never heard of the Cheetamen license:

Action 52 (which contained the first Cheetamen) was never released in good ol' Europe...This title was US only.

I've just heard some tunes on Youtube and, considering the system limitations, they're indeed really good. The remixes are even better.

Elder Scrolls Oblivion, Fallout 3, Fallout New Vegas. These games make Action 52 look competent and they got released.

Is it just me or does this sort of thing not just encompass what ROM hacking is all about? Here is a guy who has spent hours not only bug fixing but also translating one of the worst games never released. There was no demand for it, the game is still crap even with the bug fixes and I'm guessing he is getting no reward for his work yet he done it anyway just for the sheer fun of it.

Unless of course he lost a bet or something and had to do it which wouldn't be too surprising.

Yup, I did it just for fun. It was interesting to see how bad programmed is this game. I did the translation just because I was bored. I took me only a few hours, and mos of them were palette editting.

Action 52 is a unlicenced game... so even in US I guess most people never heard of it. It only got popular in the recent days with the internet about the "worst games ever made" debates, and especially AVGN who made terrible old obscure games popular (or at least well known to the public).

I do remember it being advertised in US magazines, and I thought I read somewhere that after the game stunk in the US, they shipped the remaining inventory to Europe, but I guess that's wrong?

Given that NTSC carts wouldn't work on PAL TVs, especially not when Action 52 would have been published, I'm guessing that's wrong, yeah.
