Hmmm... That seems to only cover the windows in the status sub-screen. There are a bunch of similar looking values right after, but changing them hasn't yielded any results at all.

Current work right now is Sprites, which is close to done.

Next will be a few tile patches. Original FF1, GFF, and 2 others for Forest. 1 for Mountains, 1 for town shading effect, 2 for Mirage Tower.

Given the new personalized look I gave in the master patch, I realized I needed to give some options. The Town work looks good, but then I noticed that an optional thicker shading should be offered. The forest I designed seems to look good, but one with less yellow, and another with more shading, along the 2 originals, are needed. The Mountain design came out the best out of all the changes I did, but a few improvements could be done. The most important one is for Mirage Tower, which is my least liked change. The addition of a snow tile adds flavor, but the shading is way too thin. Another one will shrink the size of the tower, to give it better shading, and retain the snow tile. The last one will be to revert Gurgu Volcano B5 closer to its original state, because of how drastic the change.

This way, the various changes I made can be pasted together individually, instead of just being limited to an unmodified GFF patch for an alternative. If you are using one of the original GFF patches, and not the master patch included, some of the data will not match up with the documents. Most of the Shop data was moved around, and a few changes with Magic routines. The rest, for the most part, should be the same.

One note about Sprites. There are about a dozen that will be invisible in Hackster. Character pics are used on those particular ones. Then there is one that is outright invisible, which is on the well in Coneria. Most of the labels for Sprites are accurate, but some of the unknowns are used. There will be an update soon, which will include the breakdown for Sprites, hopefully within a month.

Speaking of sprites, I always thought the player sprites were a bit lacking in properly representing the actual classes.
I always thought they could have benefited from some sprite layering a'la Megaman.

I have figured out how to have any Item given through the dialogue data, but I cant figure out the right code sequence for giving a Weapon or Armor through the same method. The below examples will give 30-70% of weapons through $13 (a4 13), but not a complete list.

give item to any particular sprite
ee xx 60

give item in $13 - which means any sprite could obtain any item through sprite dialogue data
A4 13 B9 20 60 69 01 99 20 60

give weapon or armor to any particular sprite
20 34 DD A9 xx 9D 00 61
20 46 DD A9 xx 9D 00 61

give weapon or armor in $13 - does not provide a complete availability of weapons and armor
20 34 DD A4 13 BD 00 61 B1 01 9D 00 61
20 46 DD A4 13 BD 00 61 B1 01 9D 00 61

20 34 DD A4 13 B9 00 61 - 69 01 - 9D 00 61

69 01 , 09 01, and b1 01 yield different results, with b1 01 yielding the highest %

Changing the 01 will provide a different set of Weapons or Armor that will appear

Almost but not quite, which has been common in my conquest with this game.

I plan on doing some tile reworking of the Sprites at some point in time, so if you want to post a Dropbox link with some of your work, I will definitely look at them.

Here are the Sprite options I have been trying to find, and finally found all that I am looking for.

Any Sprite that gives the following should disappear/hide, so you dont have an infinite handout.

Adding -Set Battle- seemed like a plausible option as well.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Obtain Item in $13, Hide Sprite in $10, Dialogue $11
A4 13 B9 00 60 69 01 99 00 60 A5 10 20 75 92 A5 11 60 - 12

Obtain Item in $13, Set Battle in $12, Hide Sprite in $10, Dialogue $11
A4 13 B9 00 60 69 01 99 00 60 A5 12 20 C5 90 A5 10 20 75 92 A5 11 60 - 17

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Obtain Weapon in $13, Hide Sprite in $10, Dialogue $11
20 34 DD B0 0F A5 13 9D 00 61 A6 45 A5 10 20 75 92 A5 11 60 A9 3A 60 - 17

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Obtain Gold in $12 by increments of 1, in $13 by increments of 256, Hide Sprite in $10, Dialogue $11
AD 1C 60 65 12 8D 1C 60 AD 1D 60 65 13 8D 1D 60 A5 10 20 75 92 A5 11 60 - 18

40-7f Char #2

With limited time lately, this project is taking much longer than I want, but I hope to have the Sprite section done soon.

I didnt forget about this project, and Im trying to find time to continue on it.

For those of you who are using the master patch that I included with GFF hacking documents, I was wondering if there are any suggestions or complaints. I was literally without a computer from the end of September til just a month ago, and even now there is limited time, with 2 jobs and living much closer to my daughter.

I was unable to address a few specific issues, that would have been done if it werent for the impeding circumstances.

Any feedback would be great, so I can tackle what would be of most concern, for those using the master patch I included.
