If only my bank account were in hex... :(

Imagine, you see like... $2000.00 so it's really $8192.00... I could live with that...

Not that it matters.  I sit here and whine about not having enough time to play all the games I already have, and then I go and whine because there aren't new games yet for a platform I don't even need to buy!  Excuse me while I go punch myself in the nuts.  :-[

I keep thinking that myself... (about myself). I've hardly used my PS3 (or Xbox360)... and lately, even my Wii hasn't been getting much use. ... I mean, I've literally been playing on my iPod more than on my 3DS... That's... That's probably very sad, isn't it?

I feel your pain, granz. My laptop died on December and my new computer had problems just a few weeks ago. I hope you get yourself back up to speed!

(And using anything that isn't a PC or at least a big tablet to browse the internet can be an exercise in pain...)

I asked it about the PS4 and 720 and the crystal exploded in my face and now I've got snotty shards in my bleeding nostrils.

You should sue the crystal ball maker for such poor quality!

And that was my attempt at a joke while with an empty stomach.

I've been picking some info up on the PS4 here and there and really... all I've gotten is that there's a new controller (that's kinda ugly...), cloud based backwards compatibility, an old man's head, and that there's no info. So, I'm still skeptical about it. Hopefully, there won't be any game's that I will want on it. I've got a bunch of PS3 games I haven't played yet, not to mention all the other games for the other devices I have...

I wonder what will happen in terms of exclusivity. This gen, I went with the Xbox360 first only to find out that I preferred more of the PS3's exclusives, and so I regret having bought an Xbox360 in the first place; just about every game I could play on the Xbox360, I could play on the PS3.

Most likely, I'll end up just having a Wii U this next gen. :P (or 3DS. I want to want a Vita, but I keep not having any reasons to).

sorry, I was literally driving back to work running late from lunch and typing this in on my phone.

You shouldn't be writing forum posts while you drive... It's not healthy towards your physical being.

in my own room, hooked up to my 27" 3D monitor, but where's the fun in that?

You've made me hate you so terribly bad, I almost feel bad about it.

you have to go for something you love.

I was going to respond to this, but I saw that you edited your post to include this:

What's really ironic is that I love to write now, too.  Isn't that just a kick in the pants?

And all I have to say: Yeah, it is. :/

Oh yeah... I was always ace at writing and reading, but when it came to math? It's incredible that I even thought that doing Computer Science was the right thing for me. I have Pokemon, a few teachers, and a friend of mine to thank for that.

(Pokemon because it was the earliest instance of me wanting to make games, the teachers because they genuinely believed that my poor ability in math was due to laziness than ability- and they were right- and my friend because he helped me keep me from becoming too lazy...)

I never thought people would be distro-hopping in their main environment... I always use virtual machines for several projects. Keeps every system nice and isolated. The downside is that they tend to be very slow (although it'd be enough for playing with distros or web development).

Ah, alright, d00d. :P

People really should back up a lot, specially before major changes... Never know what could go wrong... Like... KERNEL PANIC. :'(

But then you got a full time job and started a website.  Just wait till you own a house and are married with kids and pets.  Then you can join the dark circles club with me.

Well, it's more just the full time job. Luckily, I'm able to work some parts of the website while at work. When I get home, it's usually shower->dinner (sometimes while watching a cartoon or two)->sleep (or sometimes pretend to sleep while either read a comic book or play on a handheld for a bit). I barely function without sleep, though. ... or with  :-[

But see, I do play more than 1-5 hours. I just miscalculated because it's more usual for me to play games on... these breaks of mine. Which adds up to 1 hour a day, 5 days a week. But I forgot to add in some of the time I spend playing at home, specially during the weekend. So, that number could have bumped up to 6-10 easily... Sorry I screwed up your poll, Dank.

(And, I hope you have your Vagrant Story review saved somewhere, it'd be nice to have it on the site at launch; I'm also trying to fix our communication issues)

74

This is something I can support.

75
I wanted to say 6-10 hours, but I can't be sure of that. So, 1-5 hours... FFFF no, I screwed up. I was only counting the times I play on my... uh... breaks... at... ... certain places I shouldn't be gaming... ... :(

I used to play a whole lot more, though.

Well, in this case, all he did was mention how he didn't like this one guy because of the views he held... in an aside. The bulk of the rest of his post was on-topic, until the aside got more focus.

Better than the two of us; we're just rambling about how someone's being off-topic which is in itself off-topic. :S

Gaming Discussion / Re: Cave Story+ 3DS - UK Release?
« on: February 20, 2013, 02:52:29 pm »
a kid might not be able to import a game.  But kids go on vacations with parents all around the world.

I can imagine so many parents already get angry at not being able to shut their kid up when their 3DS won't accept some game they bought in some other country.

... In Newark Airport, I actually overheard one mother scolding her son because he was running around and generally misbehaving (although not as badly as you'd think) saying something how 'she got him a game, he should play it and that when they get to [destination], he might get more games but only if he behaved' or something like that. And apparently she asked him to pack just one game... O_o Imagine that kid now with a 3DS. :P

(And for the record, that kid was actually much more well behaved than some of the devils you see down here in S.Florida... oboy...)

Edit:

Oh boy... It's the SMT IV 3DS XL again, but I read some disturbing news... and really, I read this for Fire Emblem Awakening too so I don't know why it's hitting me now, but whatever: These special edition consoles bring the game pre-installed in the machine... That's... kinda hideous...

I honestly don't see why Nintendo felt the need to include region locking this time around. Their portables used to be bastions of importability (...and... that's a real word?) but now, it's... We have to shrug, grin, and bear what they decide to bring over...

... I may get a second 3DS, though, if I do return to Japan to do JET. But that 3DS will be a Japanese 3DS XL. :S

Just wait a bit longer and see if SMT IV's 3DS XL will get a release here. If nothing else, there may be a hack later on to remove region locking (which may also allow pirated games as a side-effect *sigh*)

I'll say this though: Don't get the regular 3DS. Not because it's bad or anything (I really like mine), but the 3DS XL is just comfier, bigger... It's great.

Sorry, but could you stop to mention this in most of your posts when it's completely out of topic please ?

Actually, this note started as an aside while the rest of it was on-topic. It then gained some focus. I actually read through the last page just to see if this was true. :/ On top of that, the whole thread's been out of topic for a bit already. :S

And on topic: Sony is going to reveal some news tonight, it seems, about something, most likely their next console. They may shed some light on whether or not this new console will truly not play used games. (And if so, then, why should we pay for these hard discs when they'll be as useless as downloads?)
