Gaming Discussion / Tingle's Rosy Rupeeland Crashes Older Emulators?
« on: April 18, 2021, 10:50:16 pm »
I tried playing Freshly-Picked Tingle's Rosy Rupeeland on both DeSmuME and Twilight Menu ++, but when the game boots up, the applications crash. What could be the problem?

Since this year's Pokemon Day is music-themed, which musical Pokemon do you think has a chance of being Challenger Pack 9 in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate?

Personal Projects / Tamagotchi Park (Saturn) English Translation/Hack
« on: February 09, 2021, 07:56:51 pm »
Since no one has ever made one, I'm looking for some disassembly tools for Saturn so I can properly hack and translate Tamagotchi Park for the 25th anniversary of the world's first virtual pet.

What does this hack entail?
The hack will not just be a 100% English translation, but will also be a graphics hack that will replace Oyajitchi, Sekitoritchi, and Charitchi (from the Japanese releases) with Bill a.k.a. Gaijintchi and Zatchi (from the international releases). The basic gameplay of the game will remain intact, though.

When will this hack be finished?
Similar to Super Toads 3, my SMB3 graphics hack that replaces the Mario Bros. with Blue and Yellow Toad, the release date is up in the air as of now. Once I've completed and bug tested the hack/translation, I will announce a release date.

Can't wait for his Brazilian translation of Mario's SNES game, Super Mario World (even though I speak English).

I had this dream where someone made a hack/translation of Tamagotchi Park for Sega Saturn to celebrate the series' 25th anniversary in Japan. What this would have entailed involved both changing the Japanese text into English and replacing the Japan-exclusive Tamagotchi and replacing them with their English-exclusive counterparts.

Things just got as bad this year for me when a certain One-Winged Angel arrived in Smash...  :banghead:

ROM Hacking Discussion / Re: Monster Rancher 1-EVO Hacking?
« on: November 09, 2020, 07:39:35 pm »
Bummer. I was so hoping that someone like STARWIN could make something. After all, they did make the MR2 Seasonal Shrine.

I WAS in the process of making a Zelda 1 hack where Link and Zelda trade places similar to Donkey Kong: Pauline Edition and Super Mario Bros.: Peach Edition. I haven't made any progress due to IRL situations, however.

I'm back with another Hack idea: A Super Mario All-Stars hack that fixes the end credits of SMB2 to better match Super Mario Advance's version of SMB2.

Wish the leaker would've at least given us some more insight on the development of games like Kirby Super Star, NES games, etc.

ROM Hacking Discussion / Monster Rancher 1-EVO Hacking?
« on: July 08, 2020, 02:58:31 pm »
Are there any tools that I can use to edit the roms of the PS1 and PS2 Monster Rancher titles?

Thanks for the info, guys. I'm willing to replace "Mario Bros." with "Toads" and replace the 3 with a mushroom in my upcoming SMB3 ROM Hack.

Newcomer's Board / Just Curious About PSX Disc Patching
« on: May 10, 2020, 04:31:22 pm »
How does one patch a physical PSX disc? Even though I don't own an actual PS1 or any game discs associated with it, I've been wondering for some time. I'm willing to one day get a physical PS1 and a copy of MR2 so I can apply STARWIN's patches to the game, IF the North American version of MR1 makes it to Switch sometime in the future.

Hey, STARWIN, do you think you can make a Seasonal Shrine for MR1 one day? Just curious.

kingkj52, you may not be like STARWIN, the original creator of the MR2 Seasonal Shrine, but I have total confidence in your possible MR4 endeavor. I, myself, have always wondered what an MR1 Seasonal Shrine would've been like, had STARWIN stuck around long enough to make one.

Here's another idea: Playable Kano and Sonya in MK2.

Judging from the 36-second-long demo you presented, it looks like there's some work to be done. Other than that, superb job!
