Newcomer's Board / Re: Help needed with font hacking!
« on: January 14, 2017, 11:51:13 am »
That looks horrifying...

:woot!: The hack is fully submitted and awaiting moderator approval!  :woot!:

Once approved it'll be up for download!  I still have a few steps to get the download page set up right like adding Optomon and Snarfblam on there but it should otherwise be ready for download once it's up!

I guess there were some submission issues before. I went ahead and submitted the patch from over on the Metroid Construction site along with the description you used from over there. Everything should be good to go.

Now you gotta do a news article once the submission passes!

Gaming Discussion / Re: Zelda Ganon\'s Revenge Quest 2

By pure coincidence around the same time you made this post, I had just finished fixing certain things with this hack.  8) I was feeling nostalgic and wanted to play the first Zelda game again (haven't done so since 2004).  :'( I also wanted to play and finish some hacks of Zelda 1 that I played before but never attempted to complete the, until recently. I came across some hacks that were not finished or impossible to progress after a certain point (because they were not finished or certain things were overlooked by the original hacker) so I decided to get back into rom hacking and make them fully playable. The first one I did was "The First New Quest" hack, which has changes in the overworld and the first two dungeons are completely different (Levels 3-6 were impossible to complete). After  I finished that one, I worked on Ganon's Revenge to make it fully playable on both Quests and fixed some other things wrong with it while I was at it. I did these changes for myself mainly, not sure anyone would be interested in them. Also not sure whether or not it's alright to post a fixed version of someone else's hack without their permission.

Hey can you post or send me a patch link or pm me the ROM?

Thank you! I will take a look at these files. This will help me out greatly!

All the problems have been solved here! If someone wishes to lock this topic feel free to.

Been playing around with text in the files but that's about it. I'll have to check out these fonts and see if I can figure something out from there.

Thanks for this. I love these "road less traveled*" ports of offbeat games. :)

*yes, I know the Frost poem was ironic in intent

Thanks! Im hoping to get Thousand Land done real soon which is a pretty oddball game for the Xbox. It shares has similarities to Populous for the SNES.

Reminds me of Momotaru Dentetsu - I guess the concept is pretty much the same. Seems that people in Japan really love their railway-based board games. :)

This one was the first in line before that title. Maybe they copied the ideas and improved on them or it was a Train Monopoly game race!

Hello. I am currently working on Thousand Land for the Xbox and am stuck with these menus. Unfortunately the menus don't appear to use the same format as the dialogue in the game so I am unsure if they even use dialogue or just drawn letters. Maybe someone out there has some better know how regarding these menus and how Xbox graphic files work. I did check the .DDS files and none of them represent what these menus are. Here are the menus in which I am referring to. Everything else in the game has been no problem so far but this is where the bulk of my problems are now.

Can you add CHR mapping to give the sea water movement and for possible additional active sprites? That would look cool. Some people have done similiar stuff with newer metroid hacks.

Wow. That Last Armageddon game sounds interesting. The plot anyway. Also a surprise to see some Virtual Boy translations.

The FM-Towns version seems to be the best looking version out of the releases.

Dude you made another similar topic already -,22904.msg321212.html#msg321212

Thought it would be more appropriate to make it here since its a coding issue. Can you erase the other thread?

I have a question about something that I am wondering can be solved.. Is there a way to make it when you are in the dungeon that when you turn left or right to make it go faster? The game play is god awful slow when it comes to moving around these dungeons.

There should be a re-balancing patch for this game... Its just cruel and unusual especially for a linear game... :P

Oh yeah, is there a class that supposedly renders random encounters to not happen? I thought I saw something about this on the web somewhere a while ago but cant find it.

I wish the company would add LD IV and 3rd Book to steam. It would be great to get a fan base going with the series.
