ROM Hacking Discussion / Re: Zelda 2 FDS Translation
« on: September 07, 2017, 11:11:36 pm »
I should have a newer patch in a few days.  If there is something wrong with the 2.2 patch, hopefully this will fix it.

I patched a clean rom with 2.2 and then added 2.3 on top of that. It still says corrupted rom in nestopia.

I will wait for the next patch to see if this will work.

Hey KingMike thanks for the reply. Deleting that save info does nothing. When i patch a clean rom with the ips patch it corrupts the game. In nestopia it comes up as corrupt file.

I made sure there were no old save files in those folders. This patch worked in previous versions but something is wrong and it will not work this time.

Can anything be done to get this to work?

I cant get this game to run at all in nestopia. It always throws the same error corrupt or missing file. anything i might be missing here?

It worked before patch 2.2 but now the newest patch 2.2 will not work on nestopia. It throws an cpu jam/corrupt file.

In trying to get the items to appear I think the changes corrupt the image for nestopia.

Check this thread out:

https://forums.nesdev.com/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=12911

The missing items is actually a common problem that is remedied quite easy. Columbo, can you help to get this final version working on Nestopia again please?

Great work on this retrorain! Any luck getting past the cpu jam error on nestopia? I think your other versions of this works fine but this one locks up nestopia.  :-[

This is amazing work Kya!  :cookie: ;)

I reached out to you through a personal message. I tried compiling this myself and it will not compile for me. I sent you the 5 errors. Is there any way i can get any insight on how to maybe fix it?

Either way, thanks for sharing this with us!

Hi Grimlock is it too late to be a part of this? I thought I had requested to be part of the beta, but I could be mistaken.  :)

Not yet. If jonesy is willing to share the hack, (I've already asked him for the hack to pick it up and try to take it further) then i will get the editor from snarfblam, and also jonesy has it as well.

If he does not want to share it then that's OK too obviously. Just trying to help a good project continue.

I do not think jonesy is willing to share this hack, but i have reached out to him about it. I wont say anything about it on here, as this is his thread and where it goes from here is obviously totally up to him.

Hi dACE, yes I would like to help by picking it up and trying to finish it. Either way, I'm not here to argue with anyone, all I simply did was ask a question.  ;)

Midna, just for the record, i did not ask if it was done. I was simply asking if the hack could be released to someone else so they might could finish it or pick up where they left off so it does not fall off into the depths. Excuse me for asking a question Ill make sure to keep your thoughts in mind in the future when inquiring about something on here.

@KingMike Point noted.  :)

I know its been a little while since this topic has been bumped but is it possible jonesy to get access to the hack so someone else can at least try to pick it up and see what they can do with it? Figured there's no harm in at least asking.   :)

You mean Castlevania II? You should check this hack out by Bisqwit if you are a Castlevania II fan. It's a great rework of the classic. http://www.romhacking.net/hacks/1032/

Yes, but Dracula II for famicom disk system. Its a great game, and the sound is pretty cool too.  ;) Yes I have played bisqwits work and that is fun too! Back in 2010, I think someone was going to do it but they stopped. :)

Everytime i use beat and patch the rom it always says patch failed and the rom has garbled grpahics. Any idea what i could be doing wrong? I usually have no issues with bps.
