Like I said, I don't know where I'm going with this... I might make some second-gen cards, no guarantees, but keep in mind I'm a lousy artist... as far as I know.I wasn't expecting you to put those mewtwo's in the game as is, I just really loved the art on those and would love to see the art used in the game.
Unfortunately a card can have only 2 attacks including pokemon powers, so I'd have to remove one of ho-oh's attacks. Other than that it should be quite doable.
But the mewtwos? I could only make a rough approximation of them. Clearly they reference a lot of elements not in the game, such as burn status and steel type. I'd be more interested in making real, balanced cards - that Mecha Mewtwo is the most overpowered card I've ever seen... just saying.

I'm not going to add more new cards right now until I decide where I'm going with this. Ancient Mew would be a possibility, but Birthday Pikachu? How would it know if it was your birthday? I could just imagine a prompt whenever you attack saying, "Is today your birthday?"

I managed to force the game to give me a Lugia card in a booster pack by relocating all rare cards in that pack to elsewhere... so I'm pretty sure this will work. The only issue with it is that the cards don't show up properly on the card album. Most of them do show up, but... it's kind of wonky. They aren't assigned a blank line before you get them and they show up at the end, and without a proper number.Those two are card pops from the first game (where I'd like to see them attainable in game [I play both games]), so they more or less included them as bonus's in this (2) game, where you can get them the easy way or the hard (read:nigh on impossible) way.
So maybe I can improve it. But here is the patch. It puts each of those 4 cards into one of the first 4 booster packs, with high rarity. It won't make the correct rom checksum because this ips was actually made between 2 of my homecooked hacks of the game. But it should work with the original japanese or whoever's translation.
Edit: Hold on, I was browsing bulbapedia and according to its page about phantom cards, Venusaur and Mew are actually obtainable in game - they can be bought from the GR game center for 2000 coins. So if I can fix the card album issues I'll probably leave them out of the booster packs, unless you really want them in, still.
All are available through trade or "give aways" in the game. Except those bolded as Card Pop! cards. Those you can only obtain through the IR port.And even then the chance is so slim that even if you card poped 1000 time theres still no guarantee you'd even get 1 of them.
Thanks. The thing they all have in common is their booster pack # is 7. That just indicates that they're promotional cards, and there's no easy distinction between promotional cards found only in card pop, and ones you can trade for in-game. I've crossed out the ones I know can be obtained through trade and whatnot. I'll assume the rest are card-pop exclusive unless you know otherwise.
Never mind the Dejap translation, are there any major differences between this and the Absolute Zero translation? That translated the PSX version as well.From the screenshots I'd assume font (which looks much better in this one as far as I'm concerned), and battles quotes seem to be subbed as well. I could be wrong though.

I wish there was a Megaman hacking site like this.Agreed, it's a royal pain in the a$$ to find any megaman hack not hosted here (I'm looking at you ShadowRock, and BA Crossover)
Is it for sure random?pressing a button on the "NOW SAVING. DO NOT TURN OFF YOUR GBA" screen, (almost (~90%)) gerenties (SP?) a crash, but it will still randomly happen even if you don't press anything, I can vouch for that personally.
When I tried playing PS1, it seemed to only happen if I accidentally pressed a button on the "NOW SAVING. DO NOT TURN OFF YOUR GBA" screen, rather than waiting for it to return to the game on its own.
The dev's retired from the scene long ago and the original project page has since been taken down (to the best of my knowledge), for the next best thing you could use wololo.net as its one of the primary psp-hacking-scene pages.

EDIT 2: I'd like to note that I would also be interested in making a version of this for Phantasy Star II's port in the Phantasy Star Collection for the GBA. I'd also like to tinker around a bit with the GBA port of Phantasy Star - as in the first of the series - and though it's in mostly ASCII so I could go do it right now, I really, really want to mess with the names of the battle commands and spells. ATTK, MAGC, HELP, PROT, TELE, TERR, WIND, and THUN all definitely, definitely need to be changed... But I don't really have the desire to do that right now.If you do just remember that psc's ps has a few bugs, just to name a few (that I remember), certain combinations of levels+equipment make the chrs immune to certain monsters (take no dmg>lvl up>start taking damage again), and the whole collection shares a bug where it'll randomly crash when you go to save (not a problem if your using save states
, but when your playing on the actual cart it's pretty damn annoying
