So you know how Ninja Gaiden has a Trilogy remaster on SNES? I sometimes wonder if it'd be cool to get all 3 NES ones together on one Cart, with bugs fixed (there are bug fixes on here), complete with its own cool Menu (Rock music and everything like the SNES version).

Just a thought!

I'm Metalo. I like to look up patches for older games that I'm either now discovering or played as a kid. I'm usually a lurker in most communities, but I'm starting to slowly interact with gaming and retro gaming communities directly in order to either help out with technical stuff or get suggestions for ideas on fixing things.

Pleasure to be here formally (I used to lurk without an account every now and then, keeping track of projects I wanted to play). Hokuto No Ken/Fist of the North Star (Japan-release) on Sega MegaDrive/Genesis is one of the main projects that drew me on here.

Newcomer's Board / Metal Gear Super Romhack for NES?
« on: August 20, 2021, 04:12:06 pm »
So, a while back I merged a couple of the Romhacks on here (by applying them on top of one another). The Stack was successful. It created a fun experience (better looks and the gameplay was fixed).

I came across one issue: the remaining Romhack which replaces the Super-Computer in the NES version with the titular Metal Gear TX-55 is for the Famicom version. I do not know how to convert the Rom Hack into an NES Format. Does anyone here know how to extract Textures (or does anyone here know of a utility to swap a Famicom rom over to an NES format?). When I tried patching it to an NES version, it scrambles and inverts a bunch of textures and colors. The game functions but looks like confetti. Any help would be appreciated.

Hey, I messaged you ages ago. Can you publicly release the work you have so far? I can ask around for help with translation. Would be much appreciated.

Name's Metallo! I'm on several modding and Homebrew forums, though this is the alias I've decided to go by when it comes to Retro-Modding. Namely due to my love for the Animated DC series.

Anyways, I love Sega Master games, as well as Mega Drive and some Nintendo games (they're great, but I just love the heavy arcade-y feel and sounds/music of Sega Games). It's a pleasure to join your community formally, as I once just lurked on here from time to time to read up on translation updates. I speak 3 languages, so please let me know if I can be of any assistance. Thank you! :)

P.S. Does anyone know how the Avatar system works? Do I need to post/reply to posts a couple times to "level up" and get one? Or am I just really bad with the UI?
