Gaming Discussion / Re: Game's that have caused you to feel emotion
« on: October 23, 2014, 08:26:47 pm »
Even with 25+ years of gaming, I've never really had serious emotional attachment to games, though in FFX when you finally get towards the end and reach the scene that plays out in the title card, the added context of what lead to that made me little sad.

Great work! I took a stab MT once... never got past the menus. Congrats on getting it (mostly) done.

Kind of jealous, actually! I spent six years in a dead-end job barely making enough to scrape by, but now I have a reasonably well-paying deal, so that's nice. I'm renting, and have relocated to Seattle where my job prospects are much frankly better. It's just super busy.

RHDN separates game info from translation info. You did write the game info, but the four paragraphs for translation info came from my readme :)

Don't be super jealous, I work in operations at a bank. It pays alright but it's not where I thought I'd be. Mostly I think/worry about processes so other people paid more than I am don't have to. I'm still in the Boston area so I didn't get a LOT of house (it's a town house, really--but it's ours, all ours). At least you got out of MA! There's decent tech work out there and Washington is a place I'd love to visit, there's some serious mountains out there. I love the Berkshires and the White Mountains and all but I'd love to hike some serious west coast mountains some day. Also you have all that fun West Coast craft beer out there. I have some location envy.

Yeah, it's been slow-ish as life catches up. GOod to see you, though! How've you been?

Now I just need to release RS2 and see if I can scare Flobb out of hiding ;)

Life has a funny way of doing that, doesn't it? Things are good. I own a home (eek!), have a real job (meh), serious girlfriend (yay!)... constantly wishing I had more time for gaming but still enjoying life. How's everything going with you?

Hey stranger. Noticed Lagrange Point's entry description was written by you, heh.

Ballz! How's it going? I'm pretty sure I did write the original review text in the before-times on donut but I'm about 99.9% that the review text that's there now is not original. Maybe the first sentence or so... the rest is way too in-depth for what I was outputting at that time.

I peak at this site for the first time in years, and get not one--but TWO pleasant surprises, both from Gideon Zhi. Yay! (Admittedly, one of those surprises was over a year ago.............)

I'm way behind the curve on this but thank you. I hope all is well in life, the universe, and everything!

[Note: You really should only specify the font-family globally [in html {}], and then only specify it again when you need to change it.]

Unfortunately, that does not work in IE. Flawed as IE's rendering engine may, there are many circumstances in which font specs (font-size, to be precise) ds not trickle down from html{} and body{}.

Firefox handles it properly, regretfully the majority of the Internet is still married to IE.

And by "another site," he means "The Whirlpool."

\m/. Anyone... actually played it?

I wanted to, but I've been down too long in the midnight sea.

Did I here correctly that they scrapped the US release of the PS2 version?

Seriously, I will be sad if they did.

Similar situation with me, Neil. My brother's friend's cousin was like the ONLY person with an SMS. Every now and then, we would trade him vast quatities of NES games to borrow the SMS and PS1.

(shoot me)

Goldschlager is quite nice too, but I've only tried that a few times.

Oh shit, I have a friend who won't stop talking about how much he loves Goldschlager.  I've never had it before.  What does it taste like?

I myself am partial to Bacardi.  Southern Comfort is nice, too.

Nineteen Eighty-Four

I think Aldous Huxley's "Brave New World" is much better, but that's just my opinion.  I don't mean to insult Orwell's work: I enjoy his novels, but I feel very critical of them at the same time. -_-

Ah, SoCo. I used to love that shit.

I drank about 3/4 of a liter of that after a particualrly tough breakup once (right after I turned 21--damn! that was 6 years ago!!)... and yeah, I haven't been able to drink it since. That's one of those drinks you can't tolerate after getting sick from it.

And besides, how large was the CT ROM (originally)? Does the team think they are magically going to scrunch twice as much text back in? Even if you added beefier compression or other space-saving techniques, I have doubts that there still wouldn't be sacrifices made to the content.
